Your adventure continues to Mount Vesuvius, with a choice between two unique trails:

The Crater Trail leads you on a scenic ascent to the summit, where sweeping views of the Bay of Naples and a striking glimpse into the volcanic crater await.

The Valley of Hell offers a more adventurous path, winding through solidified lava flows from the 1944 eruption and revealing extraordinary rock formations and a hidden lava cave.

Both trails are led by experienced guides who provide insights into the geological and historical significance of the area.

Additional Info

Infants and small children can ride in a pram or stroller

Travelers should have at least a moderate level of physical fitness

During the low season (November - March) the live guide inside Pompeii ruins will be replaced by an audio guide for groups of less than six

The tour was great. The Pompeii visit was very informative. The lunch was delicious and plenty to eat. The Vesuvius hike was worth the energy to see the crater. Anna, our guide, was the best. Thank you, Anna!

Clemente - guide and Guiseppi, our driver wee terrific. More detail about hiking Mt. Vesuvius would have been appreciated. The ruins will speak for themselves. The quick wine tour was delightful. Lunch, too was a treat. Time and money well spent from this traveler.

So Federica and Nando are AMAZING. Nando was such a good driver and so kind and funny and sweet. Federica is incredibly talented. She’s great with languages but doesn’t feel like she’s always reading from a script. She went above and beyond at the end of the tour and helped me find a self serve launders place AND recommended 4 bakeries which I immediately tried and were the best food I tried in Naples. Also shout out to Shannon and Cido, our guides in pompei and Vesuvius. Similarly knowledgeable and clear experts in their craft. The “Light” lunch was not light at all. It was 3 full course, a basket of bread AND dessert. I was glad for the walk up Vesuvius to help digest. I will say it’s a pity they’ve closed the top most part of Vesuvius cause of tourists being unsafe but that’s not the tours fault.
