Really impressive experoence at port arthur. Our guide made a huge effort on route to tell us all about the historie so that when we got to the historic site. We would already have a background on this place. Its a huge mental contrast to see this now beautiful place compared to the suffering and horror. Very worth coming here and learning about this place. Also loved the viewpoints our guide brought us too. The nice hike (we spotted a wild wallaby) and the unzoo. The tasmanian devils were beautiful and fun to watch. Learned a lot from the parkguide too. Sadly for us the wild birds decided it was not a good day to show up but we did spot a few in the trees. Very good vibe from this park. Would recommend this trip and to get some ice cream from the sweet shop in richmond. Maybe the best ive ever had!

There is a lot of history and beautiful nature to see on the peninsula but a chance to see Tasmanian Devils feeding is amazing

We started today with a beautiful walk along the south shore of Tasmania. Coastal Cliffs walk from Waterfall Bay to Tasman Arch. Every overlook was another beautiful view! The Unzoo was unique. Only kangaroos and Tasmanian Devils are confined. That makes all the other animals difficult to find or see. Port Arthur was a disappointment. The area is not restored in any way, it's just empty half-buildings. Ben, out guide, was very soft spoken and I missed 80% of what he said. Richmond was a dud, unnecessary stop.

A lot in one day. The side-trip to walk the cliff tops in the Tasmania National Park was an unexpected bonus. Tassie Devil sanctuary is great in concept and needs continued investment to achieve its vision. Port Arthur, despite its history, was more inspiring than expected. Richmond, our final stop of the day, was charming and we could have spent longer there.

  • Long day, might have...
