Portimão Marina is located on the western side of Portimão and offers not only a safe haven for sailors, but also a lively and fun spot to spend sunny summer days or to watch the waves in the winter.
Algar de Benagil
We will go to Benagil, a small fishing village on the southern coast of the Algarve which has gained fame in recent years thanks to its incredible sea cave, however there is much more than just a cave to explore in this picturesque Algarve destination. The most well-known of the rock formations is the Cave of Benagil (Gruta de Benagil), where the Algar de Benagil is also located. This gigantic cave is sometimes referred to as the Benagil Cathedral because of the various arches it forms, which, viewed from the outside of the cave, give it the appearance of a cathedral.

Adrenaline was excessive, but it was very nice to see the caves from the water side. Our luck was to do the tour in November, because the guides told us that it is always super crowded in summer and more than 30 boats wait in a row to be able to enter the caves.

This was truly an amazing experience . We learned so much about the history and let me not even get started with the breathtaking views. Every turn and view was an experience and was absolutely picturesque. It was like being in a real life dream 💭

My group of 6 had a fantastic experience! The crew was great, and I would highly recommend the trip whether you’re in Portimao just for a few hours or for a few weeks! Easy to book and easy to find the departure point.

First, we saw the cliffs and grottos from above, but it was nothing to compare to what an ocean view has to offer. Captain George and Bernardo gave us a wonderful ride with informative and sometimes funny commentary. Don’t miss this wonderful experience.

Unfortunately we could not enter the caves because of the rough sea, but this was communicated clearly before the tour and they gave us an option to change the date or cancel free of charge. Which was very nice of them to do. We chose to go anyway and had an amazing time. The guide told us about the things that we could see at the shore en the captain skillfully navitaged is through the waves. We loved every minute of it, even getting completely soaked! Absolute recommendation!
