What To Expect
Stonehenge
We'll start the day with a relaxed drive through the quintessential English countryside. As the huge stone circle appears on the horizon, your guide will reveal fascinating stories about it's construction and theories around it's meaning. Was it an astronomical calendar, a burial ground, a place of healing or worship? Marvel at the shear size of the Sarcen stones, some weighing over 30 tonnes and the precision with which they are arranged.
Salisbury Cathedral and Magna Carta
After enjoying the time to wander around the mysterious monoliths of Stonehenge, you will have the option of stopping for a classic English pub lunch before making your way to Medieval Salisbury, where your guide will lead you through 800 years of history in Salisbury Cathedral, pointing out it's incredible hand carved columns, the tallest spire in Britain and it's best preserved copy of the historic Magna Carta.

Good tour but poor communication.

5.00Tour guide was On time, knowledgeable and had great personality. Communication between Viator, company and myself could have been better. I had no communication after March booking (cruise November) as to where to meet. I sent an email the day before to confirm and had no response. Finally called early morning of and it was a good thing as pick up was at ship and not a shuttle stop away as was told by Viator. That could have been disastrous.

5.00We had an outstanding time. Nathan and Erica made a great team. So knowledgeable and fun to spend most of a day with. We went to the Salisbury Cathedral and Stonehenge. Nathan very adeptly navigated the roads during a very high traffic period. Erica was incredibly friendly and was able to give a detailed history of the sites in a way we understood easily. Would absolutely use them again!

5.00we were picked up at the Portland castle as private operators are not allowed into the cruise terminal. The drive to Stonehenge was about two hours, but well worth it. The trip also included a visit to the Salisbury cathedral. The whole trip took about eight hours and just made it back in time. On hindsight should’ve left a little earlier.
