Instead of a classic food tour, you’ll learn the stories behind what locals eat and why: the roots of Tripas a Moda do Porto, the legend of the francesinha, the role of coffee in everyday life, and how the Age of Discoveries shaped European tastes.
Important: this experience has no tastings included. At each stop, your guide explains what’s special, what to look for, and what’s worth trying, then you decide if you want to taste or shop, and pay directly on the spot. It works with any budget, whether you try one small item or several. The tour finishes with guidance to a traditional restaurant so you know where to enjoy a proper local meal afterwards.

5.00What a fabulous tour of Porto and places as a tourist you wouldn’t normally visit! Maria was by far one of the best tour guides ever. Her local knowledge and friendly personality made the tour both informative and great fun from start to finish. She brought the city to life with interesting stories, hidden gems and recommendations we never would have found ourselves. The pace was perfect, the group felt very relaxed, and it gave us a real feel for Porto beyond the usual tourist spots. Highly recommended

5.00Igor was fun, energetic and knowledgeable. It was great having the local knowledge to shop for food and drink at the locals prices. We enjoyed tastings along the way. If you do this tour, don’t eat a big lunch or skip it all together. You have to try the food and wine and coffee along the way.

5.00My partner and I had a fantastic time on this tour, with Igor as our guide! He was very friendly, right from the start, and proved to be very knowledgeable about Porto's culture, food, history, traditions, and more. The food was great everywhere we went. We loved being able to pay for only the items we wanted, but honestly, we ended up getting a little of everything, which was still cheaper than many other tours! We left our tour feeling full: full of food, full of knowledge, and with a full itinerary for our following two days in Porto (as well as a few Lisbon recs, too). We're so glad we started our trip to Porto/Portugal with this tour, as our trip would have been totally different if not for this tour. I highly, highly recommend this to everyone who loves food and culture. Thank you again, Igor!!
