Have your first sailing experience in the Douro river, and enjoy the beautiful views over Porto and Gaia historic city centers.
We'll give you the opportunity of participating in the manouver and driving a sailboat, only using the wind to move our boat.
During that time we'll see the magnificent landscapes of river areas of Vila Nova de Gaia and Porto.
Depending on the sea conditions we´ll take you towards the sea to enjoy even more the pleasure of sailing.

What To Expect
Let the wind take you on a discovery aboard a BBDouro boat! This private sailing experience is the perfect choice for those who want to feel the unique sensation of using only the wind to move and experience the thrill of the boat gliding over the water. It will be 2.5 hours during which you'll have the opportunity to participate in maneuvers and steer a small sailboat, while enjoying the stunning landscapes of the riverside areas of Vila Nova de Gaia and Porto. After an explanation on how to maneuver the boat and safety instructions to consider, we will sail towards the city center to explore the highlights both cities have to offer. Although far from the city center, you will be able to recognize several places of interest in both cities: from the churches adorned with tiles, to the domes of the cathedrals, to the palm trees in the gardens of the Crystal Palace. In the riverside area, where the breeze and the gentle waves are, it is the perfect moment to photograph the D. Louis I Bridge, the Rabelo boats, and the Serra do Pilar. Heading back to the marina and towards the Atlantic Ocean, we’ll pass by Foz do Douro area and the Natural Reserve

5.00Instructor Alex made the excursion fun and exciting for us as he rotated us 3 students through the basic positions (front sail, main sail, and rudder). Alex taught us a base line understanding of how to sail with humor and calm- I would do this class again if I had the time here. Sailing with a view of Porto and Gaia was a lifetime experience.

5.00I took a couple private sailing lessons and I had an incredible time. I could not have asked for a better experience as a novice sailor. The boat was easy to manage and very exciting. Special thanks goes to Gonçalo, who is very professional, has a great knowledge of sailing and enjoys teaching as well. I highly recommend them and I will certainly return to BBDouro next time!

5.00We did a private sailing lesson with Diogo and we were not disappointed. What a fantastic instructor and sailor he is. Experience and knowledge is what he brings to the table and puts both to full use. We will be talking about this 2.5 hours for a long time. Made us even think we’re going to get a boat and sail off the US east coast. Thank you

5.00Amazing experience! We had the chance to sail in the middle of the old city center and also on the natural reserve area of the river and we finished by going out in the middle of the Atlantic Ocean which was incredible!! Highly recommended, great way to see the city.

5.00I absolutely love this experience! Although it was not a windy day, i have chosen to sightseeing for the pleasure to be on Douro river. But, after one hour, the wind picked up and we actually had the chance to put the sail up and do some maneuvers. The skipper was a warm guide and I have learned a lot. Highly recommend if you are in Porto and passionate about sailing.

5.00Wow, this was such a brilliant experience. Our captain taught us a lot and answered all the questions we had (a lot). Great friendly staff. It was truly amazing getting to sail in a beautiful area while learning the ropes.
