We were met at the Kampii Transit Terminal exactly at 9:30 am by a young man dressed in a long black leather trench coat, with wide leg jeans dragging on the ground and long black wet hair under a baseball cap, who introduced himself as Henry. We thought we were going on a 15 seat Viator private Passenger Bus - instead we were directed to the Public Bus entrance by Henry to go for a 40 minute public bus ride to Provoo. Our friends who had this same experience 2 days prior (we paid the same amount of money!) were picked up at their hotel by a guide, Darioush, who transported them personally in a car/van to the town of Provoo. During the ride their guide, Darioush talked of the history of the area and spent an hour talking about Provo once they arrived and was very entertaining per our friends. Our guide, Henry, meanwhile got on the public bus and sat several rows back from the three of us and chatted with his 'trainee' the entire time. Once in Porvoo, Henry did spend an hour talking with us about the history and guided us through the Castle Hill Park area, then showed us where we would meet in an hour. We met up at the appointed time, he did offer to stay longer but the Monday we were there more than half the shops were closed as well as the Church, so without much to do in old town we where guided back toward the public bus pickup point. Henry directed us onto a public bus to go back to Helsinki, this time he chose a local public bus which made Multiple Stops! Very frustrating experience taking 1.5 hours (vs. the 40 minute ride earlier) to get back to Helsinki on a public bus to the bus terminal - which is a 30 minute walk from our hotel! Especially knowing that our friends -just two days before- on the same excursion had been driven by car directly back from Provoo to their hotel. We could have saved a $100 per person and taken the public bus ourselves and avoided the lengthy, frustrating public bus return trip. Wishing we could have had Darioush as our guide! Hope the new trainee is able to spend time with Darioush!

A public bus that cost 24 euro round trip as of the trip at 108 euro doesn’t make sense. A walk in a park and a couple of streets. The guide did point out the shops we requested. No ability for any narration along the way. Going we rode the express bus and coming back we stopped at least 20 times. Very subpar. The town is very nice but not worth the time ir money

Wonderful walking tour in Porvoo. We learned so much about Finnish history and culture from our guide Francisco. Free time for eating and shopping in old town of Porvoo shops was filled with great finds! Highly recommend.

We enjoyed our trip to Porvoo led by Harry. He was organized yet relaxed. As we wandered he shared general info about Porvoo and was able to answer questions. Although there was no lunch break we did stop for coffee. We appreciated that he gave us free time to shop at the end of official tour.

Charming town. The tour involves walking on cobblestones; some uphill walking. We'll worth the effort.

Harry was a knowledgeable guide and the history of this Medieval town is fascinating. Plenty of time to browse the town, walk on the frozen lake, walk up to Castle Hill and coffee of course!

The coach journey to and from Porvoo was smooth. We had a very good guide who knows the history of the beautiful parks and the historic buildings around. There were lots of lovelly views to take photographs with. Such a small town but so full of interesting history. Should not be missed if you visit Finland.
