What To Expect
Cu Chi Tunnels
9:00 am: You will arrive at the Cu Chi Tunnels site before the majority of larger bus tours arrive. Watch a brief introductory ‘propaganda’ video to the Cu Chi area. 9:00 am: Explore the tunnel site, which includes weapon and booby trap exhibitions, navigating authentic Viet Cong tunnel, visiting different underground bunkers (kitchens, meeting rooms, ammunitions etc.), a firing range and much more. Try the local cassava root that sustained Viet Cong fighters for years. 11:00 am: Enjoy a delicious traditional Vietnamese lunch by the river, consisting of authentic fried spring rolls, chicken and beef dishes and soup. 11:30 am: Say goodbye to Cu Chi Tunnel and return to Ho Chi Minh City.

5.00Really interesting and learningfull tour!!!!! A must if you are in Saigon. Perfect that the boat arrived ahead of all the tourists bussed!!!! On top of that, the guide was so fantastic and informative in both a serious and humorist way. What’s your shoulder if trying the AK47 😉 (I am educated in 7.62mm rounds but still got surprised by the kickback…)

5.00I was very privileged to be taken on this wonderful speed boat experience by the extremely knowledgeable Kim She related family history related to the war and its aftermath. Her commentary made the experience feel so much more personal. I cannot rate this experience highly enough. I woukd do it again in a heart beat.

5.00This was a great experience. Taking the boat at 7 AM instead of a bus was not only a much nicer experience, but we arrived hours before the buses and were ahead of the crowds. The tour guide was very knowledgeable about the history and the provided sit down lunch was delicious. We were back around 2 PM and had lots of the day left for further activities. I would highly recommend!

5.00A great trip to visit the tunnels. Our guide was very knowledgeable about the history, friendly and amusing. Would highly recommend going by boat. It was a 'cool' way to travel in the heat and we were at the tunnels before the tour buses arrive so able to begin our tour before the crowds. Drinks and food freely offered on the boat and delicious lunch at the tunnels before we left on our return trip.

5.00If you go early you are for all tourists. We were about first to the tunnels, which is fantastic!we had a great guide Lucky, she brought the story fully to life. Also the boat is great. Wind in the hair and great care complete the tour.

5.00To see the Cu Chi tunnels, I opted for the more luxurious option of getting there by speedboat with ‘Les Rives Authentic River Experience’ rather than by bus or taxi, and I certainly haven't regretted the decision. By the way, it wasn't the kind of speedboat where you have to hold on tightly to prevent yourself from falling off. 😉 Although the boat trip is not much faster than travelling by bus, it has the following advantages: a) There is the possibility to sit outside and enjoy the view and the breeze. b) Because of a), the seating order was fluid rather than preset, at least in our group, which allowed talking to other members of the group if one wanted to. c) The catering service was excellent. We were offered a light breakfast, plenty of fruit (my favourite!) and soft drinks on top of the great lunch served at the destination. I was very glad that Lucky was our tour guide. Upon arrival at our destination, she gave a thorough introduction to the history of the Vietnam conflict and the tunnel structure, which I really appreciated. Furthermore she conveyed the facts and stories in an interesting and entertaining way throughout the tour, and her English was excellent. On top of that, she was a very likeable person with a great sense of humour. My thanks also go to the boat crew, i.e. the captain and the young and very friendly lady in charge of catering. We also had a nice chat on the return trip. It was a great experience!

5.00We did the half day speedboat trip to the Chi Chi tunnels. It’s a great way to see the tunnels and see some of the city from the river on the way. Our guide, Than, was really knowledgable and a great host. We learnt so much during the morning. The pick up /drop off arrangements are efficient and having lunch included was a bonus. Highly recommended.
