As an American this tour is difficult and treated with a lack of sensitivity for our military. Anyone choosing to take this tour needs to know this and I did prior to booking. You’ll be shown the different traps which were set and view the mural which depicts military falling to their deaths or mutilation. The guide shouted “Good morning, Vietnam!” before spinning a trap door on the one active trap for tourists to photograph. The real attraction here is the shooting gallery at the end. Most people seemed to purchase ammunition and go to the firing range. Save your money and visit the War Remnants Museum in zone one (HCMC). It was the most compassionate view of the war from all sides and treats the material with sensitivity.

Boat ride to tunnels is the way to go… faster and much more pleasant. Tour guide was very knowledgeable and personable. Les Rives is a great tour experience.

We loved this tour! It’s a bit more expensive than the other cu chi tours, but so worth it. It’s nice to go on the Saigon river instead of on a bus, and we were the first tour group there (7am tour), which was really nice and quiet. On top of this, our guide (Hai), was so knowledgeable!! The rest of his team on the boat was amazing too, couldn’t recommend the trip more :)

Even after multiple visits to Vietnam this tour provided additional insight to the conflict. And the ride by the boat was excellent. Take the early tour as by noon the site is packed.
