• Perfect Way to see Milford Sound.

  One of the things we were looking forward to most on our trip to New Zealand was getting to see Milford Sound and Fiordland National Park. Since our time was limited, we decided to get an introduction to the area by taking a tour. It turns out that I think we learned and saw more on our tour than we would have on our own. The tour starts very early as it's about a 4 hour drive from Queenstown to Milford Sound. Our pickup was right on time and our tour guides / driver were super friendly and knowledgable about the area and the places we visited. There are quite a few stops along the way - mostly to see various incredible views, lakes and mountains. There is also one stop for fuel/bathrooms/coffee. The weather on the day we did this tour was absolutely perfect. All of the scenery was incredible, and we looked forward to every new stop on the way to Milford Sound. On arriving at Milford Sound (approx 12:30pm) we got our tickets for the scenic cruise and boarded the boat. The boat was pretty crowded but there was room for everyone to sit, and once we got going people were mostly standing along the sides of the boat to see the views. We had time to eat our lunch during the cruise and it was really good. During the cruise we got to see waterfalls, seals, dolphins and a variety birds. We had chosen to do the flight back to Queenstown, so at the completion of the cruise we met our pilot who took us by bus to the airport, which was just a few minutes away. After getting on the plane and taking off, we got to see Milford Sound from a whole new perspective - and it was spectacular. The mountains, glaciers and lakes are magnificent. Again we had perfect weather so our flight was very smooth and visibility was excellent. The total flight was about 45 minutes, and we landed back at Queenstown and were driven back into town. We wound up arriving back at our hotel about 4:00pm. It is a long day, so we were glad we didn't have to do the 4 hour bus ride back to Queenstown. The bus was very comfortable, but between the views from the plane and the ease of getting back we were glad we opted for the flight. We can't recommend this tour enough. It was excellent in every way, and it would be difficult to see everything we say on our own. The tour company was also great - their communication, people and experience make this tour one of the best we've ever done.

  Great experience, especially Lynnette who was a fountain of knowledge, her enthusiasm exuded from start to finish! Shame we could not fly home as this was weather limited! One suggestion I would make is perhaps to change the seating on the return journey as we were rather stuck in the back for 8 hours and a change would have been appreciated! Thank you one and all!   Wonderful drive to Milford Sound followed by lovely boat tour and flight back to Queenstown. All three parts of the tour were led by friendly and helpful operators. Colin gave a great bus tour and Ben gave a great flight tour.

  My travelling companions and I rated it one of the best experiences of our lives. A combination of cloudless, light-winds day, flawless organisation - and some of the most beautiful surroundings on this earth!

  Absolutely amazing! The guide was experienced and this trip is a must do especially with the flight to end it. Couldn’t recommend it enough.
