Following complimentary coffee and pastries at the Cellarium, the 14th century medieval under croft, we enter the Westminster Abbey through the cloister. The cloister entrance offers priority access. This will be followed by an exclusive tour with our professional qualified guide.
An architectural masterpiece, Westminster Abbey presents a unique pageant of British history – the shrine of St Edward the confessor, the tombs of kings and queens, and countless memorials to the famous and the great. You will hear about the most recent coronation of Charles III that took place on the 6th May, 2023, the marriage of William and Kate – the Prince and Princess of Wales, and also stop briefly to pay our respect and celebrate the life of the late Queen Elizabeth II whose state funeral also took place at the Abbey.

Our first experience of Westminster Abbey, one of the jewels in London’s crown and a must see for any visitor, is in the 14th century medieval under croft. Originally used by the Benedictine monks to store food and drink - the Cellarium is now a unique restaurant, and we pause here for refreshments. (Refreshments included in the price)

There are layers upon layers of elements here. My favorite of all places we visited in London. Go early if you can - it gets busy. Our guide was awesome.

We had a very knowlegdeable and personable tour guides on previous Viator tours and the one today of Westminster Abbey was also exceptionally good. This tells me thst Viator only works with qualified guides. She gave enough important info mixed with stories that we felt we were living at that time. The tour passed exceptionally quickly because she held our interest the entire time. I would certainly recommend Viator for private tours.

Amber was a sensational tour guide. Amber’s knowledge of the history of Westminster Abbey and the way in which she presented it was brilliant. I only wish all history could be taught that way, as I learnt and retained more in two hours than I ever did at high school. Thank you Amber for a very memorable experience.

I would have liked the tea and scones at the end of the tour not at the beginning of tour. ……… ………..
