We had a great experience with 3 couples partly due to our guide Xhuljano. A nice tour, seen a lot, and very good explanation of the sights. He had knowledge about culture, history, politics and everyday things. A very reliable and good driver despite the holiday / traffic in the month of August. Highly recommended. 1 small point to note: pay attention to the room layout.

There was good communication from the start. We had added airport pickup and drop along with additional stays at Tirana due to our flight timings. This was taken care of by Skerdi for additional pay. Travelling with elderly parents was promptly noted and minor alterations were suggested by him. Overall a good 4 days spent as a family.

Our journey through Albania, from north to south, was an extraordinary experience, made all the more special by our outstanding guide, Xhulio. Always punctual, patient, and consistently cheerful, Xhulio impressed us with his impeccable organization and adaptability, paired with an impressive depth of knowledge about Albanian culture and history. Every moment spent exploring the country's diverse landscapes with him was a delight, enriched by engaging conversations during the drives. Beyond his remarkable qualities as a guide, Xhulio is also an exceptionally safe and reliable driver. We recommend Local Friends Albania to 100%.

We can only recommend this private tour. You get a good insight into Albanian life. We added another day of Theth to the tour, which was a real highlight. Skerdi is a good driver, reliable, conveys a lot about the history of Albania. The selected restaurants were excellent. We will certainly come to Albania again and do another tour.

Our family (me, my husband, and our little one) had an amazing experience on this 4-day tour in Albania! From start to finish, everything was well-organized, and we felt completely taken care of. Skerdi, our guide, was absolutely fantastic—knowledgeable, friendly, and patient, especially with our child. He made sure we were comfortable throughout the trip, sharing fascinating stories about Albania’s history, culture, and traditions while also keeping things light and fun. The itinerary was a perfect mix of sightseeing, nature, and delicious local food. We explored stunning landscapes, charming old towns, and hidden gems that we wouldn’t have found on our own. Every day was an adventure, and we left with so many wonderful memories. If you’re looking for a tour that combines history, culture, and genuine hospitality, this is the one! Thank you, Skerdi, for making our trip so special—we truly came as customers and left as friends!

Skerdi, co-owner of tour operator "Friends of Albania" was the perfect guide: polite, friendly, very well educated, particularly in Albanian history, outspoken, and very considerate helping two older gentlemen with limited mobility, e.g. helping us at difficult trails and staircases, with our luggage, etc. We had a very private tour, just the two of us in his clean, private car. He got us a second bedroom in the hotels at very reasonable prices. The tour covers most of the important historical and naturally beautiful sites of Albania. Skerdi also does shorter tours. We highly recommend him.

We did the 4-day private tour and we learned so much about the history of Albania in various regions. It was hard for our 9-year old to grasp the significance of the history, but our 13-year old absorbed a lot of information. Staying at the Castle Hotel in Berat was a highlight for all of us.

Even though it was 42 degrees, Skerdi and We did extra activities. We have seen many faces of Albania: the north, the south, the petrol station, the melon, the mountains and the beaches. We saw thousands of flamingos in a monastery, ate lamb in a local pub. Slept in a castle, cheered in the streets. What the biggest surprise was: to discover how much Albanian and Hungarian history have in common. We even have similar legends. And now it will also be a legend for us and for Skerdi that we travelled together for the first time through Albania's brand new, longest tunnel.
