Bridge End
We leave Lerwick and cross the island of Trondra to reach Burra, where we visit The Outpost. A little bit of Australia in Shetland, The Outpost is an animal sanctuary run by a Tasmanian expat. Home to wallabies, goats, kunekune pigs and more. Bags of feed are available- donations are gratefully accepted (not included). Travel time from Lerwick- 25 mins
Meal Beach
Working our way back to the Shetland Mainland, we pause at Meal Beach. Meal is one of the most popular beaches in Shetland, and for good reason. Beautiful white sand gently slope into the clear turquoise water. The beach is also quite sheltered, so combined with some facilities it is an ideal spot for families. *Please note- Meal Beach is on Burra, not Bressay as indicated by Viator Travel time from The Outpost- 10 mins
