What To Expect
Khor Virap
Khor Virap is the most famous pilgrimage site in Armenia, as it is directly connected with the adoption of Christianity. As a state religion, Christianity in Armenia was adopted in 301 due to endeavors of Saint Gregory The Illuminator, who, before converting King Trdat The 3rd to Christianity, was imprisoned in the dungeon, over which a church of Khor Virap monastery was built in the 17th century. From the monastery one can admire the stunning view of the Biblical Mount Ararat.
The Monastery of Geghard
Geghard monastery is the unsurpassable masterpiece of the 13th century Armenian architecture. Some of the churches of the complex are masterfully hewn in a huge rock. From the outset the complex was called Ayrivank (cave monastery), later it was renamed Geghard (lance) as the lance, used by the roman soldier to sting Jesus Christ's side, had been kept in this monastery for many centuries. Due to its construction, Geghardavank serves the best place for singing spiritual songs. The complex is rich in subtle sculptural embellishments and many striking khachkars (cross-stones). The site is included in UNESCO World Cultural Heritage List.

5.00We had a excellent driver, Arakel. His a knowledge, friendly and have a great personality. We had tour without a guild, but Arakel knows a lot of Armenian history. His was answer all our questions. Gorgeous mountains monasteries, reservoir and valley views made our day.

5.00we had a pleasure to spend a day enjoying a very well organized and thought-through photo tour, combining some of the greatest landmarks Armenia has to offer with picturesque drive views. it's perfectly timed, too, so you're leaving not too tired, and can go on with your day full of positive vibes. a special big thanks goes to our dedicated driver, Grigor -- an exelent, smooth driver (even through some nasty rain), intelligent, and very well-mannered companion. he was absolutely delightful to enjoy this trip with. we thank the Hyur Service Team for this experience and memories, and would definitely recommend booking a trip with them if you ever get a chance to visit this beautiful country.

5.00We had a wonderful private tour accompanied by Gayane and the driver Gokor. A day between Khor virap and Geghard monasteries and a visit to the Garni temple and the gorge of the same name. Excellent service both regarding the comfort of the trip and the explanations received from our guide Gayane in excellent Italian. Also very good lunch and the opportunity that we were offered to assist in the preparation of lavash. Hyur service overrecommended!
