What To Expect
Mutianyu Great Wall
Your driver and guide will pick you up from your Beijing city hotel at 8:00am. It takes about 1.5 hours to the Wall from downtown Beijing. The Great Wall at Mutianyu is a little further from Beijing than the most popular section at Badaling, but it doesn't get as crowded. This section of the Wall is fully restored, there are hand rails to help you up on the very steep parts and the views are spectacular.
Ming Tombs (Ming Shishan Ling)
After a nice lunch at local Chinese restaurants, we will visit the Ming Tombs. Ming Tombs are mausoleums of thirteen emperors of the Ming dynasty. It is the largest clusters of imperial cemeteries in China.Since 1409 with the construction of Changling Tomb for Emperor Zhu Di, the Ming Tombs was completed in 1644 when the Emperor Chongzhen was buried in Siling Tomb. There are three parts are opened to public, the Sacred Way, Changling Tomb and Dingling Tomb. The Sacred Way is the first attraction of Ming Tombs,which is a main way leading to the thirteen imperial tombs inside the scenic area. The two lines of stone lifelike sculptures (12 beasts and 6 officials) on both sides are the highlight of the Sacred Way which are quite popular with visitors. Among the Ming Tombs,Changling is the largest, earliest and most magnificent with best preserved found constructions. Dingling is the only one that the underground palace was excavated. You will visit one of them based on your interests. After finishing your trip to Great Wall and the Ming Tombs, you will be transferred back to your hotel.

5.00Such a great experience! Very Safe driver and we loved Sally our guide who was extremely knowledgeable and helpful. The private car was very clean and extremely comfortable. Starting the tour as early as possible and leaving Beijing early helped us to avoid the traffic and long lines that we saw as we were finishing the locations. 5 stars for sure!!
Smooth trip to the Great Wall at Mutianyu and the Dingling Mausoleum

5.00Rita picked me up timely from my hotel for the drive to Mutianyu. She was very conversational and informative about visiting Beijing. The car was clean and the drive from location to location was smooth and safe. Going up to the Wall, Rita gave me a choice between taking the cablecar or the chairlift up with toboggan down. I definitely recommend the chairlift and toboggan, like she suggested, for a more memorable experience. She then took me for a very good lunch nearby before we headed to the Dingling Mausoleum, which was worth visiting for about one hour. Just note that the tour includes entrance to and accompaniment to the Dingling Mausoleum or the Changling Mausoluem but does not include the Sacred Way in the Ming Dynasty tombs area.

5.00Mutianyu Great Wall was a perfect location. Not too crowded and easy to get to. Coco was an excellent tour guide. She knew the best picture spots and she was able to edit my itinerary last minute because some government celebrations in Beijing shut down the attractions at different times. I highly recommend Coco as a tour guide!

5.00Day just started a nice drive to the wall. Our guide (Marjorie) was very kind, told a lot of info about the wall, culture, history, city etc. She really take care of us as a good "mother". The lunch was OK in a local restaurant, we can choose from the menu which was very rich. Ming tombs was also nice during the afternoon. Arrived back to teh hotel around 5pm. We are overall very satisfied and would recommend this tour!
