What To Expect

Mutianyu Great Wall

You will be picked up upon your arrival at Beijing Capital Airport, and get to the famous Mutianyu Great Wall after one-hour driving. There is an option of shuttle bus, cable car or chair lift (at your own expense) to the top of the mountain, then start your hiking on the 600-year-old Ming Dynasty Great Wall. You can hike from 2 to 4 hours depending on your fight schedule. Enjoy the view and take some excellent pictures. After hiking, you can take the cable car or toboggan down the hill.

Ming Tombs (Ming Shishan Ling)

In the afternoon from Mutianyu, its on to the sacred Ming Tombs, burial grounds to 13 of the 16 Ming emperors. Situated just outside the city. The Ming Tombs, one of China’s most extraordinary historical treasures and a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Nestled at the foot of the Yan Mountains in Beijing’s Changping District, this sacred valley serves as the final resting place for 13 emperors of the Ming Dynasty, along with their empresses, concubines, and loyal courtiers. Built over 230 years (from the 15th to the 17th century), the site embodies the grandeur, artistry, and spiritual beliefs of one of China’s most influential dynasties.

We booked a car to bring us to Mutianyu Great Wall and the Ming Tombs. The driver was courteous and tell us how to purchase tickets and there no time pressure at all, allow us to take our time to explore these 2 places.

We had such a great trip to the Great Wall in Jinshanling, we wanted to go to a secluded area with less tourists and that's exactly what we got. Our driver took us there, helped buy our tickets and waited for us to be finished and drove us back for a reasonable price. At first there were some other people (not many) but as we walked over the wall there were less and less, to the point where it felt like we were alone, stunning views, one of the best things I've experienced. I recommend getting the drivers contact so you can communicate with him, and don't leave too late as the traffic can get bad. We would have left sooner if we had known this. Hope you enjoy! Couldn't recommend this enough

We booked a car with driver for a day trip to Mutianyu Great Wall. We were picked up from our hotel at the appointed time and transferred to the Mutianyu entrance. They also helped us with purchasing the entrance tickets OPTION A or B 200 RMB/person which includes entrance ticket + shuttle bus + cable car up and down or chairlift up and toboggan down for a family member. We walked on our own, up the wall and upon descending we were picked up and transferred back to Beijing. I recommend prompt and quality services.

We booked U-Bestour for our trip to the Mutianyu Great Wall, and honestly, everything went perfectly. Our driver showed up right on time, which already gave us peace of mind — especially when you're in a new country and not sure what to expect. Even though he didn’t speak English, he used a translation app to communicate with us, and it worked really well. He was super patient and made sure we understood everything clearly. What really impressed us was that he didn’t just drop us off — he actually guided us all the way to the top of the Wall. That saved us so much time and energy trying to figure out where to go, especially since the area is pretty big. His help made the whole experience feel easy and enjoyable. We felt completely safe and taken care of the whole time. It was one of the best experiences of our trip, and we’re so glad we chose U-Bestour. Reliable, on time, super helpful — we’d absolutely recommend them to anyone visiting the Great Wall!

We hired a private driver to go from Beijing to Mutianyu at 6:30am. The driver, Mr Leo, arrived before scheduled and was very nice and helpful. He used a translator to speak with us and pre-paid our tickets so we didn’t have to wait in line to get them. He message us a few times while we were on the wall to let us know where he was waiting for us. Would definitely recommend this service 🙌

Mr Gao was a very helpful, friendly, patient and excellent person. My glasses broke while flying to Beijing abd he had a driver have glue ready for me to fix my glasses, mr Gao was very attentive and always made sure I was comfortable the entire time in Beijing. I would recommend anyone ti Mr. Gao if you are traveling to Beijing. Ibwill definitely be contacting him the next time, I visit Beijing.

The driver Mr Liu is very kind and helpful. He arrived to our hotel on time and willing to cater with our last minute change plan. He also brought us straight to Mutianyu ticket office as well as costume rental near Temple of Heaven. Highly recommended! Thanks for the water for refreshment. I'll book u-bestour if I visit Beijing again in the future.
