See this amazing martian landscape for yourself while you get away from the crowded pavement and chaos. Fording the Fremont River keeps most from reaching the northern district of Capitol Reef which requires high clearance 4×4 vehicles. Hop in our closed vehicle with a professional guide who will serve as your driver.
Photographers and drone enthusiasts will have plenty of time to capture stunning shots in every direction of these rainbow colored hills. Options for hiking and other spectacular sights are close-by including the lower Cathedral Valley which requires one of our more extended tours.

Not recommended for travelers with poor cardiovascular health
Suitable for all physical fitness levels
The vehicle used for the tour has 4 regular, adult sized seats and 2 small, child sized seats. Therefore, we can accomodate up to 4 adults and 2 childern for 6 passengers maximum. 1 adult and 5 children would also work.
This offroading tour involves rough, bumpy roads that are not recommended for anyone wanting to avoid being jostled around. Pregnant travelers and those with back problems must use their own discretion.

5.00Shawn went the extra mile (literally). My drone malfunctioned while shooting and crashed over the Bentonite Hills. We searched off-road into the dark before his partner with other clients miraculously found the drone in a very remote area. Very grateful to recover the drone with the memory card still intact.

5.00Wayne was beyond an excellent guide. He graciously picked us up at our hotel, showed us some hidden areas with fossilized matter, gave us an exceptional tour of the Bentonite Hills, and provided detailed background and tip for places to stop on our next leg of the journey. Thanks to Wayne, we got to see places few do and we learned so much! Highly recommend this tour!

5.00We scheduled a last minute 4x4 experience with Capital Reef Outfitters after great advice from Shaun at Capital Reef Resort restaurant. So glad we did! Larry picked us up in his comfortable & capable 4Runner at the resort. We learned a ton about the history, geology, and saw areas only local guides know of. Larry took us to views of Bentonite Hills and adapted our tour to what we wanted to do. 10/10 would recommend Larry as a guide & Capital Reef Outfitters!
