Our guide was fantastic—super friendly and spoke excellent English. Very knowledgeable about the area and shared lots of helpful tips throughout the tour. They went above and beyond to make sure we were comfortable. Nothing was ever too much trouble

An Unforgettable Kyoto Experience with Kosuke-san! We had the absolute pleasure of touring Kyoto with Kosuke-san, and he is truly the best guide you could ask for. Warm, responsive, and incredibly patient, he made our private July tour for nine people feel effortless, even in the sweltering heat and humidity! Kosuke-san's love for his city shines through in the countless fun facts he shared along the way, turning every stop into a deeper discovery. From famous landmarks to tucked-away treasures like Komyo-in Temple, he crafted an itinerary that balanced adventure and serenity, and cleverly helped us avoid the crowds too. One of the highlights was hiking up to Fushimi Inari Taisha Shrine, where Kosuke-san not only joined us but captured Instagram-worthy photos with skill and enthusiasm. Thanks to him, our time in Kyoto was beyond memorable. If you're considering a tour, don’t hesitate, book with KSK Tours and let Kosuke-san show you the magic of Kyoto.

We had the pleasure of touring with Kosuke on two separate days—one in Kyoto and another exploring Uji City and Nara—and both experiences were absolutely fantastic. Kosuke was a perfect match for our group, which included a wide age range (20s to 60s), and he made sure everyone felt included and engaged throughout the tours. Each day was thoughtfully planned, combining well-known tourist spots with hidden gems that gave us a deeper, more authentic feel for the region. Kosuke's knowledge of the history and culture of each location was impressive, and he shared it in a way that was both informative and easy to follow. He was incredibly patient, flexible with the pace, and always had great recommendations for things to see, do, and eat. A real highlight was the authentic lunch he arranged for us—delicious and unforgettable! We had such a great time with him that we tried to book him for an additional day, but he was already fully booked (a testament to how in-demand he is!). As a bonus, Kosuke also takes amazing photos, capturing moments we’ll cherish for years. If you’re looking for an experienced, personable guide who can tailor your itinerary to your interests, I can’t recommend Kosuke highly enough.

We were a party of 5 and this was my second tour with Kosuke-san. Kosuke-san picked us up at our Kyoto hotel in the morning and from there the entire day was stress-free, entertaining and incredibly informative, His English is excellent and knowledge about Kyoto and its people is far beyond any textbook as it is obvious this is his hometown that he is proud to share with visitors. We were quite comfortable with Kosuke's driving and the vehicle he drove while accommodating our demanding group. Even after one of our travelers asked for a Starbuck's, Kosuke-san took us to a historical part of Kyoto where the buildings were over 100 years old and in a special nook was a 2-story Starbucks. We visited the famed Fushimi Inari Shrine and Bamboo Forest of which I was impressed with Kosuke's tricks to work around the massive tourists using secret pathways and the right time of day. He even knew the best vendor to buy inari sushi from. We enjoyed the serenity at the Zen Buddhist garden/temple away from crowds, the temple with 1,000 statues and were amazed at his timing where many maiko were spotted on the quiet streets of Gion. Being that I traveled with shopaholics, he gave us some time at the Nishiki Market and am always impressed that when one of us could be lost, he knows exactly how to find us in a sea of people. I've never felt safer than when I know Kosuke-san is in charge. I highly recommend KSK Tours if you plan to visit Kyoto.

Kosuke was on time for pickup at our hotel for 6 adults. He was very friendly and professional. He adjusted our day tour to wherever we wanted to go. He was very informative for the areas we toured. His driving was very safe. We enjoyed our day with Kosuke. It was the best decision we could have made for our one day in Kyoto to see as much as possible. It was cheaper to hire him for the day then book individual tours for all the areas we visited in one day with Kosuke. We highly recommend Kosuke for tours in Kyoto

Kosuke took me and my family (5 people total) on such a wonderful van tour around Kyoto in May. He really helped us get the most out of this day especially since we had to navigate through the rain. We were able to see Fushimi Inari Shrine, Kinkaku-Ji, Sanjūsangen-dō, Nishiki Market, and several amazing tea shops in Uji. There is no way we’d be able to see all of that in one day (especially a rainy one!) without the knowledgeable expertise of Kosuke. Through each site we visited, he explained the cultural relevance of the location and provided us with interesting insight, all with the passion of a Kyoto native. My mom was dealing with a hip injury and Kosuke was thoughtful with making sure she could rest or take easier routes throughout the tour. My favorite part of the tour was going to Uji - which we learned is famous for their high quality green tea! This was not discussed as destination prior to the tour, but when Kosuke learned that we wanted to buy match and green tea, he suggested that we go to Uji and that was a perfect destination to go with a knowledgeable person like him! He brought us to a handful of shops that were specifically known for different types of tea and had us do some tastings as well. One tea shop we visited was from a 400 year old company! If you want to get the most out of your time in Kyoto, I highly recommend Kosuke.
