Magellan's Cross is a Christian cross planted by Portuguese and Spanish explorers as ordered by Ferdinand Magellan upon arriving in Cebu in the Philippines on 16 or 17 March 1521. NOTE: Magellan’s Cross and Basilica del Sto Niño will be inaccessible during the Novena mass from January 9 to 20, 2025. All roads nearby the church will be closed.

5.00Since we felt safe with Abam, we requested for Abam to drive us again- Cebu tours did not disappoint. They made it happen. The tour was great and Abam knows each of history of the place. He’s a photographer too! ☺️. Took lots of great photos of us. ☺️

1.00It was a terrible experience. The driver failed to follow the planned itinerary and deliberately skipped 3 out of the 9 listed stops. He also made us wait over 15 minutes at one of the stops and again for another 15 minutes in line to refuel — something he could have easily done during our 1.5-hour lunch break, which we had to take and didn’t even enjoy at all.

5.00Originally we planned to tour Cebu independently using Grab. But, after seeing the traffic chaos we opted for the private driver option and we were thankful we did! Our Driver Adrian was excellent. He drove safely, was very friendly, accomodating and spoke good English, and, he never rushed us despite the busy schedule. We saw so many interesting things on the full day tour. I real highlight was the drive into the hills. We certainly wouldn’t have seen half of what we did if we had tried to go it alone. Our lunch was exceptional and included a great vegetarian option (which seems rare for the Phillipines). We were given 1000 pesos for the 2 of us which was sufficient. The only negative was the age of the Toyota sedan, but it have aircon so that didn’t impact on our day. We were picked up just after 8am and didn’t return till almost 6pm, so it really was a full day. Would highly recommend this tour to people visiting the area. Many thanks Adrian for making our day very enjoyable.
