If you want to visit the Great Wall and don't have enough time for a whole day, this half-day private Mutianyu Great Wall tour is a great Choice. It only takes 4-5 hours for the entire trip. You have the option of taking the cable car up and cable car down, chairlift up and toboggan down or cable car up and toboggan down. Enjoy the beautiful view by taking cable car or chairlift up, and more fun to slid down by toboggan.

If you have enough time, the tour can be extended to 8 hours.

What To Expect

Mutianyu Great Wall

Start your tour with your Beijing hotel pickup at your preferred time by your private guide and driver. Then drive about 1.5 hours to Mutianyu Great Wall, which is located in Huairou County, about 79km away from downtown Beijing. This area has dense woods with beautiful landscape all year around. It enjoys a reputation of "Mutianyu surpassing others of the Great Wall and is the best scenic spot". Upon arrival, you will first take the cable car up to tower 14, where you can enjoy the beautiful view of this section. Then you have the choice of hiking up to the peak and come back to Tower 14, take cable car down, or hiking down to tower 6, take the toboggan down (more fun). You have approximately 2 hours here. After the tour, you will be transferred back to your hotel.

Had an amazing trip to the Great Wall with Ken! He was not only friendly and approachable but also incredibly knowledgeable about the area. We had a nice trip with Mr Lin Kong. He has a very clean car . He makes our trip very comfortable and prepared some snacks and water. Also we had a stop at the tea shop and had nice ceremony of tea tasting. And you can ask him to drop you off in the city center . ☺️

We had such a wonderful experience with our driver and tour guide! They were both incredibly professional, kind, and knowledgeable. We were escorted to the Great Wall by Sally and our private driver. We went early and beat the crowds (recommended!!) and Sally gave us the history of the wall and China on the drive there, with more anecdotes while we were on the wall. Highly recommended and Sally is very highly recommended.
