What To Expect
Pompeii Archaeological Park
You will meet a licensed guide at the main gate in Pompeii, after purchasing tickets, the tour begins and you will be led by the guide through the ruins of this amazing ancient town.
This gate provides access to the west of the city and it is the most impressive among the seven gates of Pompeii.

Driver: No licensed guide and no tickets included in the price.
Duration: 8 hours: Customers are allowed up to 8.45 hours without extra charges. Going beyond nine hours incurs a 40€ per hour fee.

Our guide, Giacomo, was incredibly knowledgeable and curated an informative and interesting tour through the archaeological sites.

5.00Antonino is a gem in the giant pool of tour guides in Naples, let alone Italy. We were amazed at how knowledgeable, kind, and patient he was. We did the Pompeii, Herculaneum, and Mount Vesuvius tour. Though a lot to pack in one day, Antonino makes it happen for you! This was one of the most memorable days of my life so far. Although we were running late on the first excursion (Pompeii), Antonino answered all of our questions and made it clear to us that he didn’t want us to feel rushed at all as we take in the setting, art, and history. What impressed me most was how educated he was. I asked him at least 40 questions, some about the most random things, and he always knew the answer. What makes this all the more impressive is that he is self taught! I thought for sure he was with an agency that prepared him and gave him the iPad of materials and photos for explanation purposes. I couldn’t have been more amazed to know that Antonino taught himself all of the history, art, geography etc, necessary to give the best tours he can. That alone blew me away because he really brings Pompeii and Herculaneum to life. Even in the museum, he would give so much more context and facts about the artifacts than the little plaques on the wall provided. He has a keen eye for details and teaches you how to have one too. He will engage you by quizzing you with questions and keeping you on your toes. Most of all, he is so accommodating and prioritizes your experience. Be really deserves all the best and if you see an opening in his availability, consider yourself lucky. Thank you Antonino for cementing your tour as an unforgettable memory and for providing us a phenomenal glimpse into Greco-Roman history in Napoli! Grazie mille :)

5.00It was a special occasion with it being our anniversary and we wanted to really experienced Mount Vesuvius, Pompeii and Herculaneum with an intimate private guide. Antonio picked us up at the train station with his warm smile holding a sign with our names and he was a delight from the get-go! It was a VIP experience from the start and his knowledge of the 3 ancient sites was impressive. I was like a kid on a field-trip with my very own guide. He outlined the day perfectly with lunch at Pompeii’s newest onsite restaurant. I got to take all the pictures I wanted and ask 100s of questions to my delight. Tony was so sweet to answer every question with such thoughtfulness and same curiosity. I would recommend Tony and company “A DRIVE INTO THE BLUE“ to family, friends and anyone who’s reading this review. Best private driver and tour experience ever and it’s worth every euro! Once you experience, someone like Tony as a private driver and guide, you’ll never go back to being stuck in a group tour where everything is fast paced, rushed, and you have to share your time and questions with 20 other people. 5.00Antonio made our day trip to Pompeii and Herculaneum amazing. Very easy to tell he loves to teach about the area and is proud to show off his city and the sites. The information he shared was fun and incredible. We never would have got so much out of the tour without him. Also being in a small group of four we were able to see much more than a large bus group and even get through some of the large lineups. Unfortunately we were unable to get to Mount Vesuvius, due to the new ticket system they have, we were unable to get tickets even though Antonio and our group both tried for many days. Thank you so much Antonio for a great day and being such an amazing tour guide. Couldn't have asked for more.

I think having the private tour helped us gain a lot more insight into the history and gave us the ability to ask more questions, etc. We really enjoyed the experience!

5.00Our fourth visit to Naples and third time to Pompeii and Vesuvius. This was hands down the most incredible trip of them all! Antonino was so knowledgeable, fun and considerate. We saw and learned SO much more on this trip than any of the prior trips combined. Seeing Herculaneum as well during this trip was exceptional with the added preservation and history of this site. We would absolutely recommend this trip. Our only recommendation is to speak with Antonino well in advance if the horrible new rules of the Vesuvius park services are making it impossible for you to get entry tickets as he can help ensure you find an option and don't miss out.

5.00This tour was truly the highlight of our trip to southern Italy. Antonino was easy to reach and communicate with before our trip, and we got everything planned and squared away without a hiccup. On the morning of the tour, he picked us up and took us through an amazing, private experience through Pompei, Herculaneum, and then brought us to Mount Vesuvius where my girlfriend and I hiked up the volcano. Antonino was unbelievably informative the entire day, teaching us so much about the history of these places with extensive detail. He spent more time than originally scheduled and allowed us to see a few more sites. He was also so patient and answered all of our questions with pure joy and dedication - we never once felt rushed. We could tell that Antonino is very passionate about his craft and loves what he does. Overall, this was probably the best tour I’ve ever been on (before I booked, I didn’t know what to initially expect). If you’re on the fence…TRUST ME… don’t hesitate, just book it. You won’t regret it.

5.00This was a brilliant tour and the best way to see Pompeii, Herculaneum and Vesuvius easily in one day. Antonino is an amazing guide who brought the ruins of Pompeii and Herculaneum to life. His knowledge of history and the area is outstanding and he happily answered any questions we had. We wouldn't have covered anywhere near as much ground or had half as much insight into each of the sites if we attempted this on our own. This was probably the most expensive tour we booked on our holiday but it was worth every cent. You won't regret booking!
