For lovers of archeology and the ancient history of Tunisia
With us you can discover two exceptional archaeological sites, Dougga and Bulla Regia.
The first stop of our excursion is the visit of Testour, this village was founded by the Moorish people at the beginning of the 17th century. We will take a panoramic tour of the city, from the famous mosque to the beautiful minaret adorned with a clock whose hands turn counterclockwise.
Then we will continue to Dougga, the ancient Roman city of Thugga. We will appreciate the visit of the beautiful ruins wonderfully preserved if you are passionate about history and art: the theater, the capitol, the forum, the thermal baths, the houses, the place of the wind rose, the triumphal arch, the Libyco- Punic Mausoleum
Then you will visit Bulla Regia. This archaeological site is famous for its religious buildings: the capitol, the temple of Apollo, the two Christian basilicas, and the church of Alexander.

Great Mosque of Testour
The Andalusian village of Testour is famous with the Grand Mosque, it embodies Andalusian architecture, especially its minaret, which features Andalusian-style inscriptions and architectural elements. The height of the minaret is 23 meters and it is an octagonal shape. The façade of the minaret is opened by small double windows decorated with glazed inscriptions and a mechanical clock at the top. Its appearance resembles the Aragonese bell towers of southern Spain.
Dougga
Unesco classified this site on the World Heritage List in 1997, considering that it is the “best preserved small Roman city in North Africa”. This archaeological site preserves, within its delimitation, the vestiges of different periods of the ancient city with all its components: the monumental center (capitol, forum, market, place of the wind rose ...), the buildings of shows (theater, circus) and the public baths clearly reflect the way in which an indigenous foundation evolved during the Roman period.

My husband and I recently enjoyed a private excursion from Tunis to Testour, Dougga, and Bulla Regia, and it was truly an unforgettable experience. The highlight of our journey was our guide, Baligh, whose professionalism and warmth made the day exceptional. • Baligh was incredibly attentive and friendly, ensuring that we felt comfortable and well taken care of throughout the trip. • His deep knowledge of history and archaeology brought each site to life. From the Roman ruins of Dougga to the unique underground villas of Bulla Regia, his explanations were insightful and engaging. • He also shared fascinating details about Testour, enriching our understanding of the cultural and historical significance of the town. We appreciated not only his expertise but also his genuine enthusiasm and kindness, which made the excursion feel personal and memorable. We highly recommend this tour to anyone visiting Tunisia and especially encourage travelers to request Baligh as their guide. His passion for history and dedication to his guests truly elevate the experience.

The driver was punctual and safe. The stop at the mosque is very brief so barely worth mentioning in the tour. The time at El Jem and Bulla Regia were good but felt rushed. We departed at 8 am and returned before 3 pm. If you’re wanting to go to El Jem and Bulla Regia you’re better off finding a bus tour that will be cheaper.

We had a fantastic tour with our guide Iskander. He is very passionate about history of Tunisia, and has endless patience for all of your questions. Our driver Mohammad was great - careful, patient, never speeding or being upset with the traffic. It matters a lot when you have a long day on the road. I travelled with my 70 year old parent, and want to note that if your parent has some mobility issues this trip is still a very good option - walking on sites is very manageable, there are plenty of comfort breaks, the car is clean and comfortable, and what you see will stay with your forever! Thank you, Iskander and Mohammad!

We had a fantastic time visiting the ruins of Dougga and Bulla Regia. They are extremely extensive and impressive and a must see for anyone interested in ancient history. Our guide Iskandar was extremely knowledgeable about the sites we visited as well as the modern politics and issues of Tunisia and provided so much value to the sites. Our driver Anwar was equally great and took us safely and comfortable from place to place Overall we would highly recommend to others!

Wow. What a great day exploring two amazing locations. Bulla and Dougga have so much to see. Well worth the long day most of which involves driving. Thankfully we were in a mini van which was spacious and clean. Our tour guide was accommodating and had a lot to say. I would just have skipped Testour. This tour was definitely worth it. A must if you like history.

Testour with its mosque built by both muslim and jews expelled from Spain in the 16th and 17th century. Dougga. The best preserved roman ruins in the Maghreb. Bulla Regia and its unusual buried roman house. Faisal was an excellent and professional guide. We had a very good and patient driver as well.

Skander was an excellent and knowledgeable guide who gave us lots of insightful and fascinating detail to bring the ruins of Dougga and Bulla Regia to life. We hadn’t seen any of the subterranean houses and mosaics the likes of which are at bulla regia before, and Dougga’s vast size, uniqueness and impressive state of preservation make it a must see. It was also interesting to see what he had to say about Testour, which we may otherwise have inadvertently missed without Skander. We should also note that his tour and info at Dougga seemed to be far more thorough and comprehensive than those of other groups at the site, speaking to his strong grasp on all things ancient (such was his tour at bulla Regia too) . Would thoroughly recommend to anyone interested in ancient Roman influence in North Africa, or history more generally!
