For lovers of archeology and the ancient history of Tunisia
With us you can discover two exceptional archaeological sites, Dougga and Bulla Regia.
The first stop of our excursion is the visit of Testour, this village was founded by the Moorish people at the beginning of the 17th century. We will take a panoramic tour of the city, from the famous mosque to the beautiful minaret adorned with a clock whose hands turn counterclockwise.
Then we will continue to Dougga, the ancient Roman city of Thugga. We will appreciate the visit of the beautiful ruins wonderfully preserved if you are passionate about history and art: the theater, the capitol, the forum, the thermal baths, the houses, the place of the wind rose, the triumphal arch, the Libyco- Punic Mausoleum
Then you will visit Bulla Regia. This archaeological site is famous for its religious buildings: the capitol, the temple of Apollo, the two Christian basilicas, and the church of Alexander.

Great Mosque of Testour
The Andalusian village of Testour is famous with the Grand Mosque, it embodies Andalusian architecture, especially its minaret, which features Andalusian-style inscriptions and architectural elements. The height of the minaret is 23 meters and it is an octagonal shape. The façade of the minaret is opened by small double windows decorated with glazed inscriptions and a mechanical clock at the top. Its appearance resembles the Aragonese bell towers of southern Spain.
Dougga
Unesco classified this site on the World Heritage List in 1997, considering that it is the “best preserved small Roman city in North Africa”. This archaeological site preserves, within its delimitation, the vestiges of different periods of the ancient city with all its components: the monumental center (capitol, forum, market, place of the wind rose ...), the buildings of shows (theater, circus) and the public baths clearly reflect the way in which an indigenous foundation evolved during the Roman period.

Very good experience with our friendly driver Khemais. When we stopped briefly in Testour, he even bought some local cheese for us to try (and it was delicious).

We had a great experience. Our guide Beligh was very nice and extremely experienced and eloquent in his explanations. He gave us ample time for photos and also answered all of our general questions about Tunisia and even a bit about its current politics! Highly recommended.

Mohammed, our guide was highly knowledgeable and able to answer our questions. He is passionate about the amazing mosaics at Bella Regia and the incredible structures of Dougga. These are 2 must see places but, not easy to attempt to get to on own in one day , so we were glad to have an experienced driver and guide . It was hot on the last day of April and naturally both sites afford little shelter so suncream, hats, sunglasses and large bottle of water required. Highly recommend booking this tour. We were picked up at appointed time and returned about 3.30pm. En route home Mohammed provided us with local goats’ cheese and Berber bread when we made a brief stop at Testour.

Another fantastic tour with the venerable guide Chaouky and driver Maher (I had gone to El Jem with them the day before). As with the prior day, we left earlier than scheduled to beat the crowd (which meant Chaouky leaving his house at 4:30 am!) which made the entire experience pleasant and smooth. Needless to say Chaouky was knowledgeable and made the whole day informative with historical facts, trivia and fun (with his love of 80's American music), but what I noticed on the second day with him was how genuinely kind he is - and how passionate he is about his work - and how he wants visitors to understand and appreciate the history, the beauty and the people of Tunisia. After visiting the Great Mosque of Testour, we walked the streets of the town and he treated me to a freshly made Tunisian Bomboloni (MUCH better than the one I had in Sidi Bou Said) and later to a freshly baked Tunisian bread made by a local woman at a stand on the road - yes, amazing food is a sure way to get to anyone's heart, but the fact that he gave me the opportunity to experience the food in the way that local people do was particularly meaningful to me and it was indeed one of the best moments I had in Tunisia. Needless to say the sites are amazing in a different way from El Jem but if you want to go deeper into Tunisia's history, it is a must - a must with Chaouky.

We a wonderful day touring Testour, Dougga and Bulla Regis. The two archeological sites were different but both were very interesting. The guide did a great job of explaining things and provided lots of good information. The tour was well organized and everything went as planned. Both the guide and the driver were very kind and considerate. I highly recommend this tour.

Our guide BouBou was at the Hotel before 8 a.m. to pick us up and guide us out of the busy traffic in Tunis. It was a cool drive to Testour before it got hot. Bread making stop on the way was good and I recommend get the bread with everything for Lunch or if you skipped Breakfast. It was a lot of Roman history we covered in just 8 hours and at back in Tunis by 4.30 p.m. I guess. BouBou did an amazing job not only as guide but also sharing what are best spots for amazing photographs while walking through the ruins. Highly recommended day tour, you will really enjoy every minute.

The Roman ruins at Dougga and Bulla Reggia are spectacular and the sites were brought to life by Baligh our guide who provided a fantastically informative and interesting commentary throughout the trip.

Very important to do this tour if you are seriously interested in the Ancient Carthage and Ancient Rome. This site is more important than the Roman site in Epheus in Turkey.
