Kirkjufell Mountain
Kirkjufell means "Church mountain". It is a stand-alone mountain located in a bay near the fishing village of Grundarfjörður. It is actually the most photographed mountain in Iceland, and you will understand why when you will get the chance to capture that mountain and the nearby waterfall within a single picture. Mount Kirkjufell became even more famous than it used to be after being featured in the tv show: Game of Thrones, where it is referred to as: The "arrow head mountain".
Djupalonssandur Beach
Probably the second most popular black sand beach in Iceland just after Reynisfjara. Djúpalónssandur is not only the place of the most incredible rock formations, but it is also the whole atmosphere that makes this beach so unique. From the stones lying on the beach that were used to test the strength of the aspirant fishermen to the rusty remains of shipwrecks scattered all over the place, Djúpalónssandur is full of history

We spent a few days with Philippe touring the South Coast (including a glacier hike) and the Snæfellsnes Peninsula. It was my first time visiting Iceland and touring with Philippe, and the second time for the rest of the family. We had an amazing time with him. He is so, so knowledgeable, shares so much and in such interesting manner, and adapts himself and the tour to the group amazingly well. He is very kind and helpful, an excellent safe driver, his vehicle is super comfortable and pleasant - the whole thing was simply a delight. I am already thinking about the next trip and tour with Philippe, and I would wholeheartedly recommend him to anyone that would want to visit Iceland.

Julien did an excellent job showing us the wonders of the Snaefellsness peninsula. He was very knowledgeable. Everything was well-organized, relaxed, and enjoyable from start to finish. We couldn’t have asked for a better guide. Highly recommended!

We chose the Snaefellsness Peninsula tour. Julien picked us up from our hotel located in Reykjavik. We had the chance to make several stops in beautiful places. Each stop reserved its bed of surprises, indescribable views and landscapes and a climate specific to each place. We feel like we’ve had a great trip in one day. Julien taught us a lot about Iceland, its history, people and volcanoes. His driving was perfect despite the rapid changes in time. We recommend 200%!! Brice and Olivier

Our guide, Yandy, was so fun and kind, and he made sure we got to see everything we wanted without feeling rushed. The scenery is incredible - just riding in the car is a breathtaking experience, but don't miss the hidden views you get by walking a bit at each stop. The Snæfellsnes Peninsula is a must-see destination if you're visiting Iceland, and this personal tour is so much better than being on a bus! Thank you, Yandy!

Many excursion solutions exist for Iceland. On one side there is the bus of 50 people, and on the other a private 4x4 with Julien who is French-speaking and proved to be a perfect guide. Of course it's more expensive, but no more worries about schedules, photo stops, peeing, shopping and chocolate stops, etc... Freedom is priceless. Obviously he knows everything about Iceland including the secrets he will reveal to you. Plus he's super nice and so it's the best of the best of the excursion. He always has his camera with him and will happily immortalize your best moments. Highly recommended. (Given the quality of the personalized service, we did two additional excursions: Golden Circle and Northern Lights!)

We wanted a private tour so we could see the famous sights but have a chance to go off the beaten path as well. Julien was the perfect guide for this. He took us to the big places in the peninsula but tailored the trip to what we wanted. We saw little or no tourists on the tour and it was so special! We walked behind waterfalls, hiked up to the top of them, walked the cliffs and hiked a beach by ourselves! Julien shared stories and sights that we would have completely missed without him. Our lunch stop was one of the best meals of our whole vacation! I almost didn't book a tour of the peninsula but I'm so glad I did. It was my family's highlight. I recommend emailing Julien in advance if you have any special requests as he responds right away. He is an expert hiker and can build that into your tour easily. He is the BEST!!!!

My life's dream: to visit Iceland in winter and see the Northern Lights. This dream has just come true thanks to and with Julien de Lilja tour. Julien is the perfect guide: young, dynamic, very organized and above all very attentive to his customers, All the visits made proved to be pure moments of happiness and the anecdotes or ancient Icelandic legends told by Julien added to this magnificence!! The restaurants reserved for lunch were always a discovery: typical Icelandic restaurants, where the food was simple but good, as Julien liked to say. A. real treat!! For the aurora borealis, Julien has mastered everything: the variations in the weather, the unforeseen movements of clouds, ... he has not counted his hours and encouraged our patience to finally get the vision of this magnificent natural phenomenon. Dazzling!! I will return to Iceland to learn more about Iceland and without hesitation I will call on Julien's services. I recommend you, Julien de Lilja Tour, so friendly and professional.
