The Elves & Trolls of Iceland
We will tell you all about the Elves and Trolls of Iceland, Ghosts like the Deacon of the dark river, the unique mostly aquatic monsters, the 13 Santa’s (it’s not enough to have just one Santa Claus in Iceland after all ;)), their mother the child eating troll called Grýla and finally the only known serial killer of Iceland in a land where it’s easy to get lost in the lava fields.
Storytelling is a skill
In the long winter nights in Iceland storytelling has been the primary entertainment for people so there are reasons why Icelanders love books and have the highest literacy rate in the world.

What To Expect
We meet up by the artwork of the two stone pillars that are supposed to signify how Reykjavik was discovered and settled by the first Viking.
The Settlement Exhibition
Our next stop is the oldest graveyard in Reykjavik which is in front of the Settlement Museum. There we learn how to summon a Zombie or ghost to do your bidding

5.00Magical and macabre stories from Iceland. Really enjoyable tour where we heard about elves and trolls, Yule Lads and their bloodthirsty mum, Grýla along with the founding of Reykjavik by the Vikings. Mathias was our guide- very personable and knowledgeable. Can't recommend this enough- a great way to spend a couple of hours in this great city.

5.00Stefan I. was our guide and was very knowledgeable about Icelandic lore. We were glad that he sang us an Icelandic lullaby, as we later saw a piano duo play it with new context.

5.00It was really cold, windy and raining and i am the only one who showed up ! came and the guide ! He was really nice and I could ask all the questions i needed as a child would ask ! About the islandic culture, people, about Elves and Troll, about fishing and the fishermen etc etc.....thank you for this great sharing.... !

4.00It was a cold and windy day when our guide, Bardi, led us around Reykjavik and told us some Icelandic folklore. I especially liked the sorcerers spells and visiting the graveyard. Sometimes we rested in a less windy spot and then moved to a more windy spot for another story, but there wasn't anything new to see there. I think on a chilly day like that, it would be best to take advantage of the more sheltered areas. All and all a lovely time and I would recommend it.

5.00This was a fun tour! The guide was very entertaining and his stories were interesting. I totally believe in Elves now. The tour included a walk thru a cemetery and some of the "regular" residential areas of Reykjavik. We were 3 adults, this is not a kids tour.
