Titou Gorge

Visit to the Titou Gorge which is a short swim through a series of natural rooms and ponds formed by high cliff walls canopied by interlaced trees leading to a hidden waterfall!

Drive up over 2787 ft above sea level and trek the trails that surrounds the marvelous Fresh Water Lake which lies at the center of an old volcano at the foot of Morne Macaque and is a source of the Roseau River. You have the option to view or trek the loop trail which is an hour walk (easy to moderate)

    We had a lovely tour of the natural features of the island with Philbert. He was very knowledgable, friendly and attentive. We went up the mountain to reach the freshwater lake, then gorge swim, Trafalgar waterfalls and a soak in warm sulphur baths. We finished with a drive through of the botanic gardens and a lovely view of the town and ship. The roads are rough and narrow but Philbert managed well. He was excellent. We would highly recommend this tour.

    ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ 5/5 – An Unforgettable Island Tour of Dominica! Today we went on an island tour of Dominica, and it was truly the highlight of our trip. Our tour guide, Kevin, was exceptional—personable, knowledgeable, and incredibly helpful from start to finish. He made us feel welcomed right away and brought the island’s beauty and culture to life. We visited Trafalgar Falls, where the scenery was absolutely breathtaking. The stop at the hot springs was incredibly relaxing—a perfect way to soak in Dominica’s natural charm. And exploring the Titou Gorge was absolutely unforgettable; the experience felt like stepping into another world. Kevin shared amazing insights at every stop and went above and beyond to ensure everyone was comfortable and having a great time. I am prone to car sickness and Kevin drove very gently and carefully he kept checking that I was ok. We couldn’t have asked for a better guide or a better day. If you’re considering a tour of Dominica, you won’t regret booking with Kevin!!! This was an experience we’ll be talking about for years!

    Book this tour! Don’t think twice, just do it and enjoy. Absolutely amazing experience! Titou Gorge was one of the most amazing things I’ve ever done. And the visit to the hot springs was heavenly, especially getting a drink and some chicken wings afterward. It was a rainy day and I loved it!

    Kevin was a wonderful guide. We had a group ages 7 to 76 and he was able to make the day enjoyable for all, even though we were dodging rain drops all day. From the gorge to the hot springs and everything in-between, we really enjoyed ourselves and would recommend the experience to all.

    We had Nathan as our guide. He was a bit more sober than the guide we had on Grenada a few days earlier, yet we had a really great day! Freshwater Lake was hanging in the fog, there was nothing you could do. Titou Gorge was great, the Trafalgar Falls absolutely worth seeing and the hot pools of Ti Kwen Glo Cho as the finale very relaxing. Nathan came to Trafalgar Falls, Titou Gorge and Ti Kwen Glo Cho took us all the way to the start. This was not clear to us before, but then it was fitting because we had time to ourselves accordingly. Also highly recommended is the small snack at Ti Kwen Glo Cho, which we spontaneously indulged in - the best chicken we ate on our whole Caribbean cruise! Also great was the short stopover at Froggy, a Rastafari who lived in Germany for nine years, where there was fresh coconut and who sells fruit in his colorful cabin on the street.

    This tour immerses you in the jungly, green, volcanic heart of the island. Kevin took us over mountain passes to lakes, waterfalls and sulphuric springs, passing through inland villages, stopping at a hillside fruit shop for smoothies, and at a roadside local cafe for lunch. The highlight is swimming through Titou Gorge, cool and green, to a thundering waterfall. Also loved the Ti Kwe Glo Cho hot springs (go to the hotter of the two then stand under the gushing cold water). Kevin is an enthusiastic ambassador for the stunning island of Dominica, sharing his local knowledge with pride and wisdom. A few notes—bring water shoes, a towel, and a waterproof case for your phone to take photos; don’t hesitate to do Titou Gorge—Kevin ensures you’re okay, and it’s a sublime experience. We ended the day overlooking Roseau from Morne Bruce—a turquoise sea beyond Roseau’s patchwork of pastel buildings, in the shade of the vibrant flamboyant trees. Thanks to Kevin for a sensational day.

    My husband and I had an 11 night cruise on Virgin Voyages cruise line in April. We came back from that vacation with lots of things to talk about and stories to tell. The adventure that we talk about almost exclusively is our day on the island of Dominica with our private tour guide, Kevin! Kevin made the day very special and without worry. From the time we were picked up at the cruise terminal to the time we were dropped off, we experienced the most amazing time. Kevin showed us the beauty of the island from the waterfalls, the gorge, Champagne Beach for snorkeling, and the hot springs. He stopped at a farm stand so we could sample native fruits and rum, and we enjoyed his company at a local restaurant for lunch in the Rain Forest . He taught me about the Flora and Fauna of Dominica and shared stories about his youth on the island. Kevin took wonderful photos of us throughout the day and shared them with us. This adventure was worth every penny and will be a day we will always remember !
