We arranged a private day trip for my wife and me with Colours. It was absolutely outstanding. Colours arranged all the following: Amigo was our guide. He arrived punctually, with a colleague and a driver, to pick us up at our hotel. They took us to their rooms to measure up fins and snorkels. They were wonderful at getting the right size fins for me, because I have a disability in my left leg which means my two feet are different sizes. On the way Amigo gave us an impromptu tour of the parts of the town we went through. They then took us to Fumba Beach, again pointing out highlights on the way. There they arranged a dhow for our exclusive use to take us to the snorkelling spot. We snorkelled to our hearts’ content among a large variety of fish on the reef. We are both very competent in the water, but we were impressed at how Amigo regularly checked that we were ok and not in difficulty. We were VERY impressed by Amigo when a different tour company arrived with inexperienced swimmers who panicked on getting in the water. Amigo immediately tossed them a life ring from our boat, and proceeded to help individuals gain confidence in the water. After a lengthy snorkel we went to a nearby sandbar and soaked up the sun. Amigo offered to put up a sunshade but we declined. Then we left and went on the dhow to Kwale Island where we had a magnificent seafood lunch. It really was superb, and more then we could eat. Again it was all exclusive to us. Lunch was followed by a guided walk to a large baobab tree, followed by a walk to the mangrove lagoon area. Then it was on to the dhow to sail back to Pemba Beach, and then back to our hotel. The day was magnificent, and surpassed our expectations. We highly recommend Colours, and would certainly go with them again.
