  Highlight of a one month trip in Malaysia and Indonesia! I did a round trip (via plane ) from Kota Kinabalu and Sandarkan in one day. Agus picked me up from the airport with our guide Azies. Azies was extremely knowledgeable and professional. He pointed out orangutan nests I never noticed. He is knowledgeable about plants , birds, monkeys , bears , really the entire ecosystem! It was fascinating to be right in front of orangutans in the wild , sun bears , proboscis monkeys as well as macaque monkeys and other animals. Both Azies and Agus are true professional ! Recommend doing proboscis monkey add on !

  A good trip to understand the Rain Forest and spend time with Orangutan and Sun bear in captivity, but free roaming. The guide had knowledge about the park and its habitats. Lunch was fine. It was not a full day trip, but about 5 to 6 hours including lunch.

  Feeling like I was being stalked by a taxi driver (who had cancelled the previous days tour when we said that we wouldn’t use him because we had already booked. He then rocked up to the hotel to say he had done so now he would take us) he then turned up the next day to take us on this tour. I was really annoyed as I didn’t particularly like him and I didn’t like that he had taken it upon himself to dictate how we should spend our time in Sepilok. Even down to my travel arrangements, he was following me on Grab telling me that the taxi driver I had used didn’t have a good enough car for our journey and we should cancel and use him. The tour guide talked throughout the experience, we wanted an opportunity to see animals and that won’t happen when tour guides are constantly talking (we know this from other tours) it didn’t feel like a family day out at all. I felt that this particular taxi driver ruined our whole trip to Sepilok and we returned to kota Kinabalu early because of it. Eventually I had to block him on WhatsApp. He had taken my details from this company and proceeded to message me directly after a discussion in the taxi with my husband. We only realised when he said that he hadn’t given him my number. Finally, the tour ended at 12pm, all of it done in less than 4 hours. We were taken to a restaurant where it there was the same offer of food from the previous evenings offerings (just at a different place) of curried chicken, a fish dish and veg. I’m not looking for a host of offerings but to have a choice would be nice, especially as I have food allergies. He had to tell him over and over to just drop us in the city centre so that I can find something to eat, he just kept on telling me I can eat it, I was getting annoyed because I should be able to decide if I want to eat something or not rather than being a grateful animal served a plate of food he had offered up. He took us to the most inappropriate place, he just kept on telling me I can eat there and then go to that shop and he will drive. I just wanted to be away from him, I asked for the city centre and he took us to a market where people were just staring at us and laughing at us. We ordered another taxi who was shocked he actually dropped us off there. Worse time of my holiday. Had I known, I’d have just done it myself. It would have been cheaper, would have spent the time as a family and maybe had seen something we went to see.

  Great day. Our guide new to explain everything about the jungle and local wildlife and we were lucky to see many different animals on our trip. Lucky with the weather as well. Overall, we couldn’t have asked for a better way to experience sandakan since we only stayed for one day
