This is a must do while in Iceland. A a tour that offers a variety of natural wonders and stops that makes the day one you will not forget. Visiting the family at Efstidalur farm is not offered by most tour company's but we would not want you to miss it for anything. Faxi waterfall is a hidden gem you will most likely experience all by yourself. The tomato farm is simply a magical place to stop and have a quick bite or a drink, or both!

Pingvellir National Park
No single place epitomizes the history of Iceland and the Icelandic nation better than Þingvellir by the river Öxará. At Þingvellir - literally "Assembly Plains" - the Alþing general assembly was established around 930 and continued to convene there until 1798. Major events in the history of Iceland have taken place at Þingvellir and therefore the place is held in high esteem by all Icelanders.Today Þingvellir is a protected national shrine. According to the law, passed in 1928, the protected area shall always be the property of the Icelandic nation, under the preservation of the Alþing.
Gullfoss
Gullfoss (Golden Waterfall) is an iconic waterfall of Iceland offering a spectacular view of the forces and beauty of untouched nature. Gullfoss is located in South Iceland on the Hvítá (White) river which is fed by Iceland´s second biggest glacier, Langjökull. The water plummets down 32 meters in multiple stages into a rugged canyon which walls reach up to 70 meters in height. On a sunny day shimmering rainbow can be seen over the falls.

We had the best day! Walter met us early at the cruise pier and we beat the crowds to the amazing sights on the Golden Circle. Walter's van was comfortable and neat. He also brought us to a delightful lunch place where we had delicious bread and homemade tomato soup. It was a day we will never forget!

Our tour guide Walter yesterday was a super nice guy, was on time, recommended a great lunch and got us to where we needed to go within the specified time frames. However, he did not speak good enough English for us first time visitors and he really did not "tour" us, only taxied us. He would drop the six of us off at a site and tell us where to meet him, but did not give us any history or information about the site. We finally loaded a self guided GPS tour on his Bluetooth. Again Walter is a super nice guy and would be a satisfactory taxi driver, but we paid way too much money for that experience.

We selected Walter based on his perfect reviews. He exceeded our extremely high expectations. He picked us up at our cruise ship and took us with our luggage on the Golden Circle tour. We went to: the amazing Gullfoss waterfall; the Geyser (smaller version of old faithful); Secret Lagoon for a relaxing dip in Iceland’s oldest geo thermal lagoon; the tomato farm for the best tomato soup ever. He then offered to take us to the South Coast which we quickly agreed to pay extra to see the two best Iceland tours in one day. He drove us to look for puffins from a picturesque overlook . We saw black sand beaches; a glacier; and the most amazing volcanic mountain range where moss covered mountains stretched for miles along the road and offered up numerous waterfalls along the way. He ended the day by taking us to our apartment and carrying our heavy luggage up the flight of stairs . His service, entertaining conversation, information about Iceland and the sites made this by far the best tour ever.

Local tour guide taught us more about the area and country than expected and saw more sites than requested. Great time overall.

Tour was very enjoyable enjoyable. Itinerary was perfect length, and the sights were amazing! Lunch at the Tomato Farm was wonderful--delicious food and interesting location. Our tour guide was very pleasant, if a bit reserved. Wish he would have offered some more information and stories about what we were seeing.

We were three couples on a 12 night cruise to Halifax, Newfoundland, Greenland and Iceland. We took tours in every port. By far, Walter was the best tour guide we could have asked for. We were on a very tight time schedule and wanted to see as much as we could. Walter was very accommodating. From the time I booked the tour, he kept in contact with me. I told him a few sights we wanted to see and left the rest up to him. He designed the best tour for us. We saw so much. He was very informative and a lot of fun to be with. I would highly recommend a tour with Walter and Iceland Tours by Taxi to anyone going to Reykjavik.

If you are considering a private tour in Iceland, you probably already know that they’re expensive. I did a lot of research, using books and internet sites. Somehow I came across Walter, and I’m so happy I did. For one thing, he was considerably less expensive than other private tours, where you get a guide who walks with you and talks and talks about everything. Walter, on the other hand, takes you to the beginning point, allows you to take as much time meandering through the area, and then meets you at the end point. There were plenty of signs along the way explaining the various sites, so we were fine with this. Our private Golden Circle tour cost $760, compared to the $1,300-1,500 price tag other companies charge. I was so impressed with him that I also used him to pick us up at the airport and take us to the airport, and the reverse on the way to the flight. When he dropped us off at the hotel, the street was under construction. He couldn’t help us with our bags so he called the front desk and they walked down to the street to lend a hand. I wouldn’t hesitate to use his services again!
