This tour was led by Taka, an amazing tour guide. Our bus to Kawaguchiko was late arriving, and we were impressed that Taka changed his schedule to start and end the tour an hour later than previously planned. We found Taka very well informed on the formation of Mt Fuji, and its volcanic activity changing the shape of the lake at Fuji’s base. He had excellent knowledge of the geology of the volcanic rock (basalt flows – I am a geologist) and it was really fascinating to see the basalt flows, different rock textures, and caves beneath the surface flows. Taka's command of English is excellent, which made his descriptions easy to follow, and very informative. We learned of the many volcanic flows since 847 AD and how they influenced the Shinto religion across the centuries. Taka’s descriptions made the volcanic mountain an active part of human history – something completely new for me since in my home country we have not had active volcanoes for tens of thousands of years. Our walk to a beautiful waterfall and walks in several forests were wonderful. Peaceful and serene. Taka also assisted us in online bookings of our subsequent bus trip to join up with the Shinkansen bullet train journey for the next leg of our holiday. Taka very helpfully gave us time to understand the complexities of the transport booking process which had previously confused us due to our limited understanding of the Japanese booking system. It was a wonderful tour, with a very helpful guide.

10000000000000000000000000000000% YOU NEED TO BOOK WITH TAKA. I couldn't believe how knowledgable, amazing, friendly, patient, kind Taka was. We were staying in Lake Kawaguchiko, and this tour was one of the only ones that actually stayed in the area with hotel pickup/drop off in the same area. Taka-san was so incredibly nice and knows so much about the area. He lives here with his wife and his 3 kids and you can just tell how much Taka-san loves and cares for the area. We asked a million questions (as Canadian tourists do) and he knew everything we asked. We really got to know not only Mt. Fuji, the town, but Taka-san as well. Out of ALL the tours we've done during our trip, my entire family agrees this tour and Taka was amazing. Attaching some of the amazing photo spots he brought us to (with virtually NO people, so it was calm, peaceful and you get great pictures!) (Taka I'm still waiting for you to change your tour picture to the picture of our family!!)

We spent 6 hours with Taka today and it was the highlight of our trip. We got lucky with clear views of Mt Fuji in the morning. Taka took us around to really unique places, we barely saw other people (just drove past the massive queues at the popular spots). He was full of knowledge, providing conversational history about the area and Japan. It was an easygoing day spent around Kawaguchiko. Thank you for such a wonderful day and it was great to meet you!

We had an amazing day exploring the Mt Fuji area with Taka. Instead of crowded tourist locations, he took us to beautiful hidden spots with incredible views of Mt Fuji, peaceful shrines, and stunning photo locations we never would have found ourselves. Taka was friendly, professional, and spoke excellent English. His local knowledge made the day really special and he timed the stops perfectly for the best views. This tour was one of the highlights of our trip to Japan. Highly recommend Taka if you want to see the real Mt Fuji away from the crowds!

We had a wonderful 2 days of exploring Mt. Fuji area. The weather was so unpredictable being rainy, cloudy & windy, but Taka was able to take us to many beautiful spots and made it more interesting with stories about those sites. Because of his local knowledge, we were able to enjoy the many places while avoiding the massive tourist crowds. Taka took such great care of us that we felt like we were visiting Mt. Fuji area with a friend.
