Shankill Road

Shankill Road is the main road in the Protestant and Unionist working-class neighborhood of the same name, located in the west of Belfast, the capital of Northern Ireland. The street starts from the city center and extends 2.4 km to the west. It is primarily a shopping street; housing is located on the side streets leading off from it. Shankill Road is today a popular tourist attraction because of its political murals, which express unequivocal sympathy for the pro-British Loyalists.

Wonderful walking tour through Belfast. Corey our guide was outstanding, very personable and flexible with what we wanted to see. Gave us a lot of the history of Belfast and Northern Ireland. Having read the book Say Nothing and seeing the 9 episode series, we had some knowledge of The Troubles. His personal stories just added to our experience. He also gave us the history of some pubs and recommended some. Overall a wonderful 3 hour, well worth it.
