We started our cold day in Bruges feeling very excited, and our guide, Martin, was friendly and upbeat. He asked whether we preferred a light tour or a more historical one, and we specifically said we love history. Unfortunately, the tour ended up being quite light with very little depth. The main reason for my 2-star rating, however, is that the tour was cut short—something we only realized the next day. The description clearly states that it includes visits to the Minnewater Lake and the Princely Beguinage, but we did not visit either of these locations.

We had a fun and educational city walk on 9-11 with guide Maarten. We loved it. We loved it. With his enthusiasm, fun facts and humor, he is a good example for other guides. Bruges should be proud! The tour was fun and varied.

The leadership took no account of the older ladies who had difficulty walking. (Age, cobblestones)

Erik Gobin gave us an absolutely fantastic walking tour of Bruges. His deep knowledge of the city’s history, architecture, and hidden gems brought every cobblestone and canal to life. Erik’s storytelling was engaging and insightful, blending humor with fascinating facts that made the experience both educational and memorable. He tailored the tour to our interests and made us feel truly immersed in the charm of Bruges. Highly recommended for anyone looking to explore the city with a passionate and personable guide.

Martin met us at our hotel in Bruges and he was on time. His English was perfect. He was very personable and in a very short time we felt very comfortable with him. His knowledge of Bruges, both historical and contemporary was excellent. He knew specific dates of events and when churches and other buildings were erected. He knew in detail the history of the notaries of Bruges. He imparted many humorous and significant stories about the people of Bruges, that we will always remember! It was a pleasurable and knowledge-filled walking tour at a very comfortable pace. Martin also introduced us to a few little known spots around Bruges and the idea that an open gate is a “welcome on in”. We were very happy that Martin was our guide. We learned a great deal in what was a very memorable Bruge tour! He was also very considerate and courteous. We would use him again without hesitation and gladly recommend him.
