Interesting walk at a slow pace.

4.00We did this as part of our cruise on the Emerald Princess. The coach picked us up at the port. A guide (Violet) explained the history of the area and the town extremely well.We were dropped off near a park then walked up some stairs to the old town. WE saw St Joseph's Cathedral including a gold painted altar. Paid another $1 to use toilet. She pointed out several old buildings including ruins of another church. People get married amongst the ruins for photos.Walked to a town square and heard bells at town hall ring. I also met Miss Panama as I was dragging behind the tour, and she came out of a building with photographers. We waited in heat in town square until bus returned us to the ship.

4.00Very good experience, recommended, we went both day and night to dinner and the casso is being restored in most places and is very picturesque. It is rating safe, and with bars to have fun and also shopping for typical items It is very interesting to see the contrast of this area with the modern area of the city

5.00There were 3 of us on the tour and we all had a great time. Joseph was our tour guide and he was extremely knowledgeable about the whole area. He was prompt , friendly, courteous, professional and overall very enjoyable to be around. We all had a wonderful time. He walked us around Casco Viejo, took his time and gave us plenty of time to wander around, take photos and ask questions. We took this tour our first day in Panama City and it made a great impression on us and our whole trip was fantastic.

3.00We took this tour on January 2, and perhaps the more experienced, knowledgeable guides were on holiday. But for whatever reason, the company sent us a young, untrained, inexperienced guide with a map telling him where to take us. At each of the stops our guide did the best he could, but it became clear he didn't know very much about the places we visited or the things we saw. It was not our young guide's fault. It was the fault of the tour company, who sent our young guide out unprepared to provide a meaningful tour. Despite this, our tour of Casco Viejo was enjoyable simply for the ambiance of the old town.

5.00We got a wonderful guide through our Hotel, Hyatt Place (downtown.) Tito dropped us off at the Panama Canal Museum in Casco Viejo so that we could take our time and absorb much of the history and details of the building of the canal. We let him know when we were done and then Tito gave us a wonderful tour of Casco Viejo. He then dropped us off at Miraflores Locks and made sure that we could get a cab back to the hotel when we were done. Tito is very knowledgeable, friendly and considerate. No matter what tour you want, I would highly recommend that you secure Tito as your guide.

5.00We did a 2 hour walking tour with Mike. He provided a great historical overview of the city and he took us all the highlights of the downtown. Would definitely recommend this tour for when you first arrive in Casco Viejo to get a lay of the land before exploring on your own!
