Fabulous day with our guide and driver Douglas. We started on the Argentinian side, and having booked our tickets in advance and with the guidance of Douglas, we were able to enter the park quickly. The pathways are easy walking, and the viewpoints provide great views of the cascades. The border crossing to Brazil was pretty slick and we stopped at restaurant designed to cater for coach loads with a buffet offering, but it defied expectations. Obviously there was meat of every kind, but unexpectedly there was a fabulous selection of vegetables and salad, and even fish. The dessert table with something to satisfy the sweet tooth of anyone. Our guide Douglas is from Ciudad del Este on the Brazilian side of the border, so it was no surprise that he championed that side as providing the better views. As it transpired it fully delivered, where in Argentina we had great views of a few cascades at various locations, on this side we had unrestricted views of the full expanse. We had a 90min wait in the ☀️ to take the optional boat trip, and although it only lasted about 20min it was great fun, bouncing upstream. Having chosen the wet option, in addition to getting to see the falls close up from water level, we also got to enjoy the full cascade shower. The falls are understandably the star attraction, short of seeing a jaguar, but we did see some of the park’s wildlife. There were scores of soaring vultures, lots of Coatis (raccoon like), a variety of beautiful butterflies, reptiles, Brazilian Guinea Pigs, Brocket (small deer) and the pick of the birds a pair of toucans. I’m very glad that we took the tour of both sides and we had a great day with Douglas.

We had a great day with Nelton today. He was great company, full of interesting info about the falls and Brazil, and totally took the stress out of navigating through all tte different components of the trip. The falls are magnificent, and well worth seeing from both sides. Highly recommended!

Our guide, Eduardo, was perfect. He took care of us so well and made a lot effort to make our trip as comfortable as possible. He was knowledgeable and took us to shortcuts to save us time. He impressed us for being a young student and working so diligently as the same time. If you book this excursion, Please ask for Eduardo. You will not be disappointed!

Very much worth it! We had only one day to tour the area and Alessandro was a perfect guide - ensuring we saw all the highlights while also making accommodations for our kids who were flagging a bit in the heat. My husband preferred the Argentinean side for getting up close to the falls, I liked the Brazilian side for the majestic views, and the kids loved the boat tour (add on) where you get to go right up to the falls. You will get wet! But Alessandro supplied us with ponchos and phone pouches to help us stay dry. There are plenty of places along the routes to buy drinks and food especially on the Brazilian side. Do note that crossing the border to Argentina can take awhile so plan to have a bit of time waiting on traffic.

We did a private VIP tour of Iguazu Falls booked directly with the owner, Nelton, who was incredibly responsive and professional from start to finish. His colleague Douglas guided us for the day, and the experience was truly VIP. I had no idea how essential a private guide is if you’re doing both the Brazilian and Argentine sides. You absolutely need one. They manage the timing, navigate the long lines, and handle all the logistics seamlessly. Trying to do this on your own would be frustrating and a huge waste of time. If you’re considering Iguazu, don’t hesitate — book with them. Fabulous experience all around.

So, we flew early into Puerto Iguazu from Buenos Aires. Our private guide, Douglas Albino picked us up at the airport and for that day and the next, Douglas took us all over to visit the Falls on both the Argentinian and Brazilian sides. He even took care of our border crossing into Brazil and back and on the 2nd and final day, he dropped us off at the Iguazu airport for out flight back to Buenos Aires. Douglas was a marvelous guide. He was very friendly and yet professional. His English is excellent and took care of all our special needs and requests. He adjusted to our pace as we are an active but retired couple. His knowledge of the local area and its fauna and flora is great. We had a lot of good conversations. If you plan to visit the Iguazu Falls, we highly highly recommend that you request Douglas as your private guide, and make sure to visit both sides of the Falls. On the Brazil side, Douglas was able to get the 2 of us on a boat just by ourselves, with him and the 2 boat operators to near the bottom of the Falls. We saw the Falls from all vantage points, at the bottom and literally on top of the Falls, near and afar. We did a lot of hiking, too, but the trails were easy and safe. All in all, a great adventure, made unforgettable by a very knowledgeable, friendly but professional private guide, Douglas Albino. Two thumbs up!!!
