What To Expect
Imjingak Pyeonghoa-Nuri Park
Imjingak Nuri Peace Park was developed immediately after South Korea’s Joint Statement was declared in 1972. This is a complex cultural space where the Global Peace Festival was held in 2005. It is composed of various cultural facilities, such as a large-scale outdoor theater, the hill of music, and the hill of the wind, where about 3,000 pinwheels spin. This is the place to take the shuttle bus in front of the ticket office.
The Third Tunnel
The 3rd Tunnel was discovered at a point just 52 km (32 miles) away from Seoul, in the administrative district of Paju, in 1978. The tunnel is underground, with 73 m (240 feet) in depth, 1,635m (1 mile), 2m in width, and 2 m (6.6 feet) in height. Also, it is as large in scale as an army of thirty thousand fully armed North Korean soldiers to pass through within an hour. It is the largest one among the tunnels that have been discovered so far. We can certainly guess how strong the North Korean plot to invade South Korea was at that time.

5.00Kevin was an amazing tour guide. From the start, they were super friendly and made everyone feel comfortable right away. They showed up right on time, which set a really good tone for the rest of the trip. What impressed me the most was how much they knew. Whether it was historical facts, fun local stories, or answering random questions, they had something interesting to say about everything. You could tell they genuinely enjoyed sharing what they knew, which made the experience even more engaging. They were also really flexible, which I appreciated. If the group wanted to spend more time at a certain spot or switch things up a bit, they were totally cool with it. That kind of flexibility made the tour feel more personal and relaxed instead of overly scheduled or rushed. Overall, it was a great experience. The guide’s attitude, knowledge, and willingness to adapt made the whole day not just informative but also a lot of fun. Definitely one of the best tours I’ve been on.

Kevin was not only extremely knowledgeable about the history and significance of the DMZ, but also shared insightful stories that brought everything to life. His passion for Korean history and culture was evident throughout the tour. Kevin was patient, engaging, and made sure everyone in our group was comfortable and involved. The visit to Gamaksan was equally memorable – the views were stunning, and Kevin took us through scenic trails while sharing interesting facts about the area. He got us around the crowds at the 3rd tunnel, provided excellent insight and information on the conflict, brought us to an amazing restaurant for “Army Stew”and did an amazing job getting us back to our hotel through the political protest traffic. If you're planning a trip to Seoul and want an unforgettable experience, he’s your guy! From start to finish, Kevin was amazing—super nice, funny, fun, and incredibly accommodating. During our tour, my brother unexpectedly got sick, and Kevin was right there, making sure he was comfortable. When we wanted to change our itinerary and skip the suspension bridge, Kevin happily adjusted the tour to suit our needs. We genuinely had the best time with him.
