Sognsvann Lake
After a forest walk, we’ll gather around a cozy campfire by the lakeside. Here, we’ll teach you the art of making fire in the wild, share stories about Norwegian outdoor traditions, and dive into the local way of life. It’s also the perfect moment to taste some classic Norwegian treats—think of it as a true taste of the outdoors! You must try the iconic Norwegian chocolate that every local hiker carries in their backpack. After the cozy fire, we’ll catch a short train ride back to Oslo city center. This relaxing activity is the perfect way to get out in nature all year round!
This tour is the best way to experience how locals enjoy nature - and our expert guides know how to do it right! We’ll start our adventure at our tour center in the heart of Oslo. From there, we’ll hop on the train for a scenic ride to Sognsvann, an idyllic lake tucked away in the woods. It’s only 20 minutes from the city center, but feels like a world away! In just a short ride, you’ll find yourself surrounded by untouched forest—just as it has been for centuries.

We had a great time with our guide Antoine, passionate, experienced, very interesting and attentive. The exchange was very rewarding, and the snowshoe ride between lake and forest was magical.
