It is a highly involving tour, giving you the chance to walk the streets, hear the children at play, smell the sidewalk barbecues, taste locally brewed beer and try some of the local food like the mopane worms. Primarily conducted via bicycle, this unique tour gives you the chance to gain a glimpse of the daily life in the township. Provides a well-organised tour that reflects the history of the Mondesa Township. Mondesa was established in the early 1950's to provide housing for blacks working in Swakopmund. The tour is designed as a part of living history, moving from the Owambo areas to those inhabited by Damara and Herero. At each stop a bit of culture, a bit of history and a great deal of laughter are shared. Guests will also get the chance to learn about traditional dress, see a demonstration of mahango preparation, taste some traditional Oshiwambo food and drink, visted the DRC kindergarden and enjoy children dancing.
