Our driver will pick you up at hotel lobby. Take about 1.5 hour’s drive from Beijing City to Mutianyu Great Wall and hike on the wall as long as you can. Mutianyu Great Wall is one popular section of the Great Wall but less crowded than other sections, well-known for its beautiful surroundings-the dense woods and rich pastures changing colors with the seasons of the year. After the trip, transfer you back to hotel.

What To Expect

Mutianyu Great Wall

The driver will pick you up at your hotel, it's about one and half hour to drive to Mutianyu Great Wall. The start time is flexible. During the holiday or weekends, it's better to start earlier to avoid the crowds. Upon arrival, your driver will assist with tickets and then leave you to explore independently. Optional extras include a ride to the top of the wall by cable car and a toboggan ride back down (both own expense). Depending on your arrival time, you typically have around three hours at the wall to hike and take photos. After the wall visiting ，the driver will take you back your hotel in Beijing.tour ends.

Joe picked us up on time with a very clean and comfortable car and we had a smooth ride to the great wall. It was raining and he helped us get raincoats and explained the best options to go up and down and timing. He was very friendly and recommended some restaurants for after the great wall, back in Beijing. Great experience

Ken was a fantastic tour guide from start to finish, picked us up right on time and drove us straight to the Great Wall. Gave us clear instructions on where to go once we took the chair lift to the top. Ken was even so kind to buy us a lovely gift whilst he waited for us to finish. All in all a beautiful day was had, thank you Ken.

Must visit place when on a visit to Beijing. you need a proper day to visit and would be not possible to complete in 3-4 hours. Firstly, it takes about 1.5 hours to reach to the base of the wall - Mutianyu side - most popular side to visit Great Wall. As one reaches to the base, there is an option to take either an open chair lift or a closed cable car to reach to the top of Great Wall. We chose the open chair lift and it was interesting. As one reaches to the top and experiences the wall, one can feel why actually it is known as the Great Wall. Walking and exploring around the area easily takes about an hour. option to have a coffee too is available. It was nice and chilly on the wall but the sheer joy of having climbed the wall takes over. To reach back to the base, the option is to either take the Luge or the open chair. Although we wanted to take the luge but the queue was too long hence took the open chair to climb down. Overall, a great experience on the Great Wall.

The trip was excellent. Mr Guo was very kind and helpful and an excellent guide for our tour who gave great advice on how to enjoy the walk on the wall. We had an awesome time on our visit to Mutianyu Great Wall. Our driver Ruby was fabulous and we really appreciated her guidance, patience and help with my elderly mother. She helped us get tickets for the cable car (really the chairlifts) to tower 6 and made suggestions on the direction that would be easiest for our mother. Two of us enjoyed the recommendation to take the toboggan down which was a lot of fun. It was indeed a great suggestion by Jenny to set out early at 6:30am rather than our original time of 8:00am we booked for. The drive there was smooth and quick and avoided traffic and the crowds which arrived later when we were ready to leave around 11:00am. It made for some fantastic photos with very few people around. Having such an early start also meant we got back to our hotel in time to spend the afternoon exploring more of Beijing city. This driver service fitted us perfectly as we just wanted to get to the Great Wall and enjoy at our own pace. Would thoroughly recommend as the service and communication was excellent.
