Tanjung Uban
The “Sleeping Buddha” statue is located at the back of the Dharma Shanti Temple. This statue was designed by Dedi Purnomo, an artist from Banyuwangi. The statue, which took four months to build, is now an alternative religious tourism location in Bintan.
Bintan Desert
The Bintan Desert is also known as the Busung Desert. This desert has white sand that will sparkle when exposed to the reflection of the sun. Very similar to the hilly desert in Middle Eastern countries.

I was met at the ferry terminal when I arrived and we drove to the furthest spot first and worked our way back. We visited 3 temples, the blue lake, stopped for lunch at a restaurant nearby followed by a coffee stop. I was given the option for extras too, so we went to the mangroves where I was able to pay for a last minute tour. Overall a very good experience - would definitely recommend. Well worth the money!

This was a great experience. I was traveling solo. My guide Dedi (hope I wrote it right) answered every question I could think of about Indonesia. I learned quite a bit. His English was fine. I could understand everything he was saying. The vast majority of people on Bintan can’t speak English at all, or have very limited skills, so it was nice to have a local to talk to. I’m happy I chose this activity and was able to see the real island outside of the resort areas. The temples and the lake are beautiful. I had a great seafood lunch at a quality establishment. Dedi took great photos, many of which I will treasure. The tour is worth every penny and is a great value. Make sure to bring the local currency like I did. All the transactions (souvenirs, lunch, optional experiences at the lake) are easy when you do. I highly recommend this tour!

They had a private driver just for me to drive around Bintan Island. He was there waiting for me in the ferry station in Bintan and was very friendly, polite and professional. Bintan has several interesting places to visit like buddha temples, the sand dunes and blue lagoon, beautiful beaches.

Our guide was extremely professional and helped us through a lot of local retail transactions that otherwise may have been challenging.

Eko was a warm, funny and gracious host, and he shared many highlights from his home and local culture. We ran into an unexpected delay traveling from Singapore to Bintan on the day of our tour, but Suhar (Tour Advisor) and Eko were able to adjust the tour schedule on short notice, which was really helpful and gave us peace of mind. Overall, we had a great time and a delicious seafood lunch at the recommendation of Eko. If you want to experience more of Bintan beyond the resort area, then I highly recommend this tour!

I always love a private tour. We go at our pace and spend the time we want to go. Edwin was great. On time, there for us when ready and took us to some fun places. The blue lake and desert was very picturesque. Love a temple or too and the shopping centre ( well that has seen betters days - just never came back from COVID). The small gift shop on the other hand delivered the odds and ends of souvenirs we wanted. The lunch location was great upon the hills.

Eko was a great driver and guide and took us to several spots pre-selected for the tour. The car was comfy and handled the highways and off-road ruts equally well. Eko also offered some additional sight-seeing options for near the end. We enjoyed the temples and the main city center traditional shopping streets. The blue lake was super hot and felt the most touristy. The add-on delight at the end was touring the Sangit coffee plantation for a lesson in growing and hand-harvesting/roasting coffee - with a bit of honey and rubber tree information, too! Overall a pleasant 6.5 hour day. Well worth leaving the resort area of Bintan to see the rest of island.
