Culloden Battlefield
The windswept moorland of Culloden could on first glance look like any Scottish hillside. However it soon becomes clear that this is a pivotal place the Jacobite story and the final battle to be fought on British soil. We first pay a visit to the low-lying visitors centre that tells the story of the build up to The Battle of Culloden that took place at this location on the 16th of April 1746. The visitor experience is excellent and once we have learnt about the context and seen the treasure trove of artefacts on display your guide will take you onto the battle site. It’s an evocative place which gives a true appreciation of the landscape and conditions that the Jacobites faced that day. The cairn that marks the location stands in the middle of the battlefield, surrounded by the mass graves of the fallen, marked with basic tombstones. You’ll also visit the Leanach Cottage, a small croft building that doubled as a field hospital nearby.
Clava Cairns
A Neolithic standing stone site, where Diana Gabaldon got her idea for the time travelling standing stones.

Gavin was a fantastic guide and just fun to spend the day with on our tour. It was only two of us which made it nice to be able to adjust how long we stayed at each location. The vehicle was very nice as well. It was a wonderful tour! If they had availability while we stay in Skye, we would have booked with them again for later this week. We highly recommend it and have already provided individual referrals to friends back home who have plans to visit the area later this summer.

Fantastic tour for people who are interested in photography and outdoor adventure! Ryan gave us loads of good tips and inspiration. We really enjoyed our day out - even in winter, Glen Affric is breathtaking! We got so many cool photos and memories to take home and Ryan was an amazing mentor and host. Would highly recommend this tour!!

I had a great day on the Glen Affric tour with Ryan. Glen Affric is a beautiful place with the glen, river, forest and mountains. Because you can reach multiple places from the same parking space, you don’t have to spend too much time in the car. With some photography tips from Ryan I got some good shots from the viewpoint and other places. Throughout the day I had nice conversations with Ryan. He was really helpful and never made the trip feel rushed. Thank you for the amazing day, I can definitely recommend people to book a tour with you!

Tour has covered a lot of beautiful sites (hills, rivers, waterfalls, forest). Tour guide Ryan is in love with the Highlands and shows the best views. During all tour he helped with my camera and I gained new experience and skills. It doesn't matter what season or weather you are going to travel. You will enjoy the beauty of nature, the silence of the forest or the sound of a waterfall. Friendly chat with Ryan and having coffee with river view is much pleasure too. It was unbelievable and unforgettable day. Thank you so much for it, Ryan.

Amazing. My friends and I thoroughly enjoyed our tour. Our party of 3 had a great time seeing all the sites. Tour covered many sites, and included hot drinks and snacks along the way too! Highlights simply too many to mention! This review would not be complete without a shoutout to Ryan, our guide who was fun, funny and took stunning pictures with endless patience, nothing was too much trouble, thank you Ryan, simple brilliance.
