Wonderful, insightful experience with Felipe! We visited the vineyards to the south, learning about the history and customs associated with wine making back into the 19th century on Pico. We then visited the vineyards to the north, including visiting a village that is/was used for wine making. Finished up with a wine tasting and wine lecture at Tito’s Adeguinha - Tito’s childhood home and now center of his enterprise A Cerca Dos Frades - facilitated by Felipe and his friend Fabio - a well known figure in the Açoreana wine industry. A must do for all the wine lovers!

Filipe was a great tour guide. We learned a lot about the history of the island and wine making. The wine tasting was delicious and the winemaker did a great job of presenting each wine.

The tour was great, Felipe was very knowledgeable and brought us on a great tour despite there being a storm. Great wine and sights. Viator is charging way more for this tour than the tour operator. Viator will not honor best price guarantee due to the operators price being in Euro, which makes no sense since we’re in Portugal.

We made the mistake of booking through TripAdvisor / Viator and so we ended up paying around 100 euro more than if we would have booked through the Atlantic Brine website directly to avoid the surcharges. The half day wine tour itself was a very nice experience. We toured vineyards and historic winemaking villages within 30-minutes of Madalena. The tour ended with a visit to a winery, sampling three white wines made with grapes exclusive to Pico Island. It was a great way to see some unique features of the island, learn about the wine making history of the region, and get some local insights from an experienced guide.
