The north of Lebanon belongs to a different world — ancient, dramatic, and deeply spiritual. This private guided tour from Beirut takes you into the heart of it, beginning with the Qadisha Valley in the early morning when mist still fills the gorge and the cliff-face monasteries emerge slowly from the fog, and ending at the Monastery of Saint Anthony of Kozhaya — one of Lebanon's oldest monasteries, carved directly into the rock face of the valley wall.
In between: the Khalil Gibran Museum in Bcharre — the intimate hilltop collection of paintings, manuscripts, and the tomb of Lebanon's most celebrated poet — and a guided walk through the Cedars of God, a UNESCO-protected grove of ancient trees some over 1,000 years old, whose timber built Phoenician ships, Solomon's Temple, and Egyptian palaces. With a professional guide bringing every stop to life, this is the north of Lebanon experienced with the depth it deserves.

Beirut
8:30 AM — Departure from Beirut Your professional guide and driver collect you from your Beirut hotel and head north along the coastal highway before climbing steeply into the Lebanese mountains. The drive itself is part of the experience — cedar-forested slopes rising above you as the altitude increases and the temperature drops toward the north.
Qadisha Valley
Arrive at the rim of the Qadisha Valley in the early morning — the best possible moment to see it. When the morning mist still fills the gorge, the cliff-face monasteries and hermitages emerge slowly from the fog like something from another century — which, in many ways, they are. The Qadisha Valley has sheltered Christian monastic communities in its sheer limestone walls since the 4th century, making it one of the earliest sites of Christian monasticism in the world. Your guide explains the valley's extraordinary spiritual history and points out the monastery caves visible in the rock face far below — communities that chose the most inaccessible places they could find to protect their faith from persecution. Standing at this viewpoint in the morning light, with the gorge mist below and the cedar-covered ridge above, is one of the most memorable moments in all of Lebanon.

I had an amazing experience visiting the Kadisha Valley and the Cedars of God with Hassane. He is incredibly knowledgeable and shared so many interesting stories and insights that really brought the places to life. On top of that, he has a great sense of humor and made the whole day fun and relaxed. Hassane was professional, kind, and truly passionate about what he does. He made this trip unforgettable, and I couldn’t have asked for a better guide. Highly recommend him to anyone looking for a memorable and enjoyable tour!

I had a great trip to Bcharri, Wadi Qadisha, and the Cedars of God with my guide Mike. He provided great insights into the history of the sites, showed me great local foods, answered all my questions, and gave great advice for other places to visit throughout the country. I especially enjoyed the Cedars of God, which is a must-see when in Lebanon.

Objective: to leave the coast and see the mountains and the communities there. Also, to visit Bcharre, the Arz Al Rab protected area and its Cedar trees. Outcome: my guide for the day, Mike, not only knew the route well, he explained the history of area and his further explanation of the cultural significance of the Cedar, as we walked among ancient and majestic trees. We then had a delicious snack as well as a honey-tasting, from the hives, among the trees; all this at 2000+ metres- unforgettable!

The sceneries of the Qashadi valley were spectacular. Some of the cedar trees were more than 3000 years old which were tall and huge. It’s easy to walk for all Ages. I also had a very nice lunch at a famous place for shawarma. The guide Nehme is so helpful and friendly. He gives me good explanation of the places. I had a very nice day for this tour. Lebanon tours is the best tour agency. P.S. It’s ok to only wear shorts and a tee shirt for the excursion.

This was the second tour with Lebanon Tours and Travels in 2 days. Luckily, we got Albert again as our tour guide. The tour itself was fantastic with beautiful scenery and landscapes all around. It was hard to choose a favorite because all the places visited stood out for different reasons. As said in my previous review, Albert was informative and knowledgeable. He is very attentive and easy to be around. He is highly recommended.

Albert, our guide and driver was very courteous and knowledgeable. He was on time, drove well, and had a good sense of humour. He also showed care and attention especially when the food was late. I wish we had more time to explore and linger because there was so much to see and witness, but given the busy schedule, I would still highly recommend this adventure with Albert and Lebanon tours.
