Sit back and relax in the comfort of a luxury touring vehicle whilst your specialist Wine Guide takes you off the beaten track to explore the dramatic scenery and pioneering history.
Indulge at renowned Carrick vineyard & restaurant for lunch, savouring a delicious antipasti platter with the finest and freshest produce and choose an accompanying glass of premium wine.
You will also have an opportunity to retrace history by wandering around the charming historical precinct of Old Cromwell.
We can include other sightseeing such as AJ Hackett Bungy or Arrowtown where time permits.

Incredible bespoke wine tour with an amazing guide

5.00We had the most wonderful day on our custom wine tour and a huge part of that was thanks to our guide Paul! As a true local, he brought the region to life with his knowledge of its history and wine culture. He had lots of entertaining stories and tidbits about the region that really made the experience feel special and personal. We had an amazing lunch at Mt Difficulty with a fantastic selection of wines (probably our favourite) and breathtaking views. Peregrine, Te Kano, and Amisfield were just as memorable with each offering beautiful settings and generous tastings. The day felt perfectly curated and relaxed. We had a minor incident with some half bottles of wine that Paul quickly helped us out with and replaced with full sized ones at no cost! He was incredibly personable, attentive, flexible, and professional and we couldn't recommend him and Appelation Wine Tours more highly. Looking forward to booking our next experience with them!

5.00Well planned and highly curated wine tasting tour with knowledgeable, friendly, and helpful guide (Donna). Was made more pleasant that we were in a luxury car as opposed to the typical van. Donna helped my friend set up top notch wine tastings for his upcoming day bike ride in Central Otago. Those proved to be very gratifying experiences for him. Thanks again for a wonderful day!

5.00We had several great hours with Craig as our guide. We were able to watch a very brave bungee jumper, people traveling by speedboat, an amazing winery with delicious wines!

5.00My husband and I enjoyed tastings at 3 wineries plus a delicious lunch paired with 5 wines under the guidance of John. The day flew by as we enjoyed beautiful scenery between wineries and learned about the local history. We would highly recommend this tour if you wish to sample wines produced in Central Otago and learn more about the history of winemaking in this region from an entertaining guide.

5.00We were visiting Queenstown for our honeymoon and did the private wine tour with lunch. The whole experience was amazing! The wineries were all welcoming, the lunch was one of our best meals on the trip, and most importantly our host went above any beyond to make the whole experience something we will never forget. Definitely would recommend this experience for anyone visiting.

5.00This was amazing. The best wine tour and lunch ever experienced. Our driver, Martin, made it an unforgettable experience. Wonderful selection of Gibbiston and Bannockburn vineyards and a great Lunch at Carrick in Bannockburn in between. Private wine tastings at both boutique and top name wineries and a guided private tour in a luxury vehicle of all the features in the area travelled. Amazing selection of top wines. Far above any of the Queenstown wine tours we have done. Exceptional.

5.00We’ve been on quite a few wine tours over the years, but the private tour we did with Appellation Wines around Central Otago was truly next level. Our guide, Paul, was absolutely fantastic; warm, friendly, and incredibly knowledgeable. His deep understanding of the local wines, the region’s history, and the unique stories behind each vineyard really brought the day to life. Paul was also wonderfully flexible, tailoring the experience to suit our tastes and making sure we got the most out of every stop. It felt less like a tour and more like a day out with a well-connected local who knew all the hidden gems. We can’t recommend this enough, it was the gold standard of wine tours.
