It takes about 20 minutes to get to the Vimy site. We have 1 car and can take up to 4 passagers. At the Canada National Vimy Memorial, you will see: - the new interpretation centre, underground Grange tunnel, and restored trenches. - Canadian Cemetery N°2 and Givenchy Road Canadian Cemetery. - the Moroccan Division Memorial. - the Monument. The memorial at Vimy is Canada’s largest war memorial. It is dedicated to the memory of the 66,000 Canadians who died during the First World War. Canadian sculptor and architect Walter Seymour Allward captured the emotion of a nation faced with the sacrifice of its fellow citizens, as well as Canada’s deeply held values of peace and freedom. The memorial site is on land given to Canada in thanks by the people of France. It offers an impressive view overlooking the plain of Artois. During the Great War, in France, in the north-Pas-de-Calais, at Vimy, near Arras, Canada was recognized by this battle as a free and Independant nation. Dedicated to peace and remembrance, the Canadian Vimy Memorial, the most prestigious Canadian monument in Europe, was erected to commemorate this hard battle of the trenches, to celebrate the birth of the Canadian nation and to ensure that this great War is the last. There are English and French speaking guides in the interpretation centre. The rest of your visit to the site is self-guided.

Super convenient. Michel met us at the Arras train station, drove us to Vimy where we had the right amount of time to wander around to experience it and then picked us up and took us back to Arras (with a couple of cemetery visits along the way) in time for the train back to Paris.

I question the value of transportation verses the cost. Very knowledgeable. Expected more than just transportation. Our walking of Vimy on our own makes your heart ache for the loss of life that allowed us our freedom in Canada

Our driver/guide Michel was excellent—picked us up right on time and advised us as to what to do and what to see upon arrival at the Vimy Ridge Memorial. We took different routes to and from our destination. Michel provided a historical perspective as well as insight into the ongoing ties between Canada and France. We visited Commonwealth cemeteries and noted difference amongst the resting places of Commonwealth/French/German soldiers. Merci beaucoup, Michel!

Michel brought myself, my mum, and my two aunts to Vimy Ridge from the Arras train station and everything went smoothly. Michel is from the region and full of knowledge of WWI. After 3 hours at the site he picked us up and drove us back a different way to see some additional sites. He also dropped us in the Arras city centre to explore before getting back on the train. All of this to say: I would highly recommend Michel to others. By the way, the Vimy Ridge centre does not have any cantine aside from vending machines, so pack a snack! There is also not much at the Arras station if you are coming from there.

We had a fabulous transfer and informational tour of Vimy Ridge, Arras and the surrounding area. Michel is very knowledgeable, timely and we definitely recommend his services. We toured Vimy Ridge for 3 hours and spent another hour with Michel who showed us cemeteries and local sights. Michel really knows the area and all the events that have occurred there.

Michel is a very knowledgeable guide who has a deep interest in history, perfect for this tour. We appreciated seeing the different military cemeteries on both the trip out and back; this deepened our knowledge. The Canadian WW1 memorial at Vimy is extremely moving and well worth visiting.

I highly recommend Michael. He was reliable, on time and a wonderful tour guide. The whole experience was very smooth. He also took us to numerous cemeteries and points of interest on the way to and from Vimy Ridge and gave us a lot of extra information and history of the area.

Michel was excellent and we could not recommend him more. On top of taking us to Vimy he showed us many of the other World War I cemeteries and the new monument to the Christmas truce. We learned far more and it was more impactful than we could have hoped for.
