Vaapiti was custom-built for my passions: surfing, diving, fishing and, above all, sailing. Since launching my va'a 5 years ago, I've had some incredible experiences.

I want to share with you the feeling of freedom that the wind and the ocean offer.

When you come on board, you'll be part of an epic that began thousands of years ago.

What To Expect

We invite you to share our passion for traditional sailing, where every moment becomes a personalised experience. Aboard Vaapiti, a unique vessel that can accommodate up to 8 passengers and two crew. Tailor-made experiences: Choose from a range of exciting activities or let the crew take you on the most incredible adventure. We'll stop off at places steeped in history and rich in biodiversity, revealing treasures such as sandbanks, rays and sharks, submerged tiki and a few secret spots. Cultural Connection: On board, immerse yourself in the culture of Polynesian sailors by learning ancestral gestures, hoisting the sails and taking control of the va'a. Refreshments and snacks: Enjoy a cooler filled with fresh fruit, refreshing drinks and delicious local snacks throughout your excursion. Flexible duration: The outing lasts 4.5 hours, with the option to extend according to your requests. For all the family: The excursion is suitable for all members of the family, and no sailing experience is required.

Unique experience, despite the changing weather, J.R and Neinoa were able to adapt to us. We discovered beautiful corners and even exceeded our apprehensions (swimming in the ocean), snorkeling with sharks and rays, fish of all colors.Big thank you to you both for all the attention and kindness that put us in confidence, thank you for the good fruits and equipment proposed. We recommend 200%!

We booked this private morning trip after seeing it recommended on a few websites. We were keen to have something less touristy and more local - this was beyond perfect!! We booked by emailing the team and they replied almost instantly and with ease. They picked us up at our hotel and to the boat. This isn’t a commercial boat or experience - this is something much more intimate where you get to be part of the crew, do things you might not get to do on more public cruises! The boat is unique - a double canoe with sail. That means you get the benefits of an engine at times, but the wonders of sailing at other times. The guys let you hoist the sails, direct the boat and get involved! We set off very early and that’s a massive benefit. The lagoon is your own with no other boats. The fish are spectacular and all the stops breathtaking. Sharks and rays and tikis! Then, even better, swim alongside the boat with the turtles! The two guys on board, JR and Nainoa were absolute gents. They looked after everything we could need, kept us fed and watered and shared their stories and experiences. I couldn’t recommend this enough. The private trip was luxury and above and beyond what we could have asked for. Thanks guys!

What an epic morning out on the ocean on a super cool sailing vessel. Unique experience that I highly recommend to anyone visiting Mo'orea. Captain and guide JR and Nainoa were professional, welcoming, friendly and knowledgeable. It rained on and off during our 4hr cruise but it didn't affect the trip at all. The rain was colder than the water so it was nice to jump into the warm lagoon to heat up after a cold shower of rain haha. Did a few snorkel stops along the way with experienced guide Nainoa who was attentive to all guests in the water, ensuring their safety, while pointing out awesome creatures such as green sea turtles and spotted eagle rays. The tiki stones snorkel was interesting and again, Nainoa made sure all guests got a brief lesson on each of hte tiki's meanings. The sail was interactive so JR had everyone help hoisting the main sail and driving the boat. He also played the nose flute beautifully for us at one of our final snorkel spots. The tropical fruit platter was exquisite with an array of yummy local fruits cut up for us to pick at whilst we cruised. Both JR and Nainoa spoke English which was a bonus for me since on my cruise there were 2 French families with young kids. I felt we all left having had a wonderful experience.

We really had a good experience, we had good fruit, we were able to enjoy the swimming with Sting Rays and Sharks. I felt like Moana in a movie. The guys were really cool and made sure that we were safe, he even helped my aunt swim with sharks. Amazing 10/10 !!

We took the morning excursion. It's incredible and indescribable we saw the turtles Then we swam with rays and sharks. We were lucky that the dolphins were swimming with the canoe. The 2 guides are available and kind in terms of decor Go there you will be amazed

Great canoe trip to explore the seabed of Moorea and enjoy the magnificent landscapes of this island. Real, empathetic enthusiasts wishing to share their passions. To do without hesitation especially if you also want to avoid the taxi boats of 30-40 tourists. Drinks and fruit on board. Lots of exchanges, a pure moment of life!!!

I recommend ++++this excursion the three brothers are adorable. In love with their island. Knowledgeable and respectful of their environment. The canoe is beautiful. My daughter Maud could think of herself as Vaiana 😁An unforgettable experience. Their kindness was even so much as to help us change our punctured car wheel 😉 Thanks to you.

Raphael and his brother introduced us to pastenague rays and blacktip sharks. Then we could see turtles and with a tasting of local fruits and coktail. Caring and very kind people who made us spend an unforgettable time with family. Very good advice until the choice of restaurant in the evening. I highly recommend this unmissable outing. Many thanks to Raphael and his little brother.

We once again had an extraordinary experience in symbiosis with the sea! JR shared the legends of Moorea, made us aware of the fragility of the lagoon and ocean flora and fauna. We were able to participate in the maneuver of the Vaapiti with happiness! Stops on turtle spots, rays and sharks, sculptures submerged in the early morning, before the arrival of tour operators, allowed us to enjoy the moment serenely and fully in peace. In addition, we were able to enjoy fruits, local pastries and homemade juices kindly offered during our cruise. We shared this moment with family and tonight everyone has stars full of eyes! Many thanks to JR and Raphael without forgetting Moana! See you soon on the Vaapiti!
