Visit the pretty 17th-century chateau of Wenngarn, it hosts one of the best preserved Baroque interiors in Northern Europe. It was home to Magnus Gabriel De La Gardie as his summer castle, one of 16th C welthiest men. Have lunch in the old vaults. Visit the village of Viby, uniquely preserved. One of few showing how Sweden's villages looked in the 18th-century. Its cultural value is now protected.

City walk in the fascinating viking age city of Sigtuna. Hear about the Viking Age, and the Mediveal age, and the cities story from this early royal power center to a buzzing traiding town. Extensive excavations does that we know a lot of this city's history.
Mariakyrkan
The oldest brick building in the Stockholm region. Enjoy the beautiful medieval wall paintings and sculptures. Former Blackfriars monastery church.

4.00Sigtuna, is the oldest town in Sweden. It was founded by King Erik the Victorious in 980 AD. This quaint town, with it's cobblestone streets, traditional wooden houses, and beautiful scenery takes you back to medieval times, especially with the ruins of 3 Churches - St. Olofs, St Lars, and St Per's. Runestones can be found throughout the town. Sigtuna is full of restaurants, book stores, a unique candy shop, the Sigtuna Museum, a small movie theater and much more. Cinnamon Rolls is their specialty.

5.00My sister and I had a great time visiting Sigtuna and learning the history of the town. Our tour guide, Karin, was very knowledgeable and helpful with all of our information inquiries. She was able to answer all our questions and made this for us an extraordinary experience. We also would like to extend a heartfelt thanks to Bianca, our driver, for an outstanding service. 5.00This is a beautiful little town founded 1000 years ago outside of Stockholm with cute shops on the old time narrow streets. Be sure to stop by Tant Brun's kaffestuga (or Aunt Brown's coffee shop) for some fika! This may be the oldest coffee shop in Sweden and reflects the character from Elsa Beskow's children's books published between 1918 and 1947. There's a lovely park and paths to stroll on too!
