Our guide Charlotte was punctual and gave us a good briefing of the natural history of the area we were about to explore and how people got around once they arrived. This helped us better understand the function of the runic stones. It was a well paced tour and we enjoyed the different aspects of the Swedish countryside. CHarlotte made suggestions for our afternoon activities and even dropped us off at the Stockholm History Museum, which further enhanced what we had seen on the tour.

We signed up for this small group tour, which turned out to be a private tour for us. Karl was our guide and he was absolutely excellent. He was very knowledgeable and we learned a lot about the Viking history of Sweden, a topic we knew very little about.. Karl even added a couple of extra things for us to see on our tour and we especially enjoyed Sigatuna (not sure if I spelled it correctly), which was a very cute town. We would recommend this tour.

After several days of walking tours, I was very glad to have a private tour with Charlotte. The company was very communicative prior to the tour regarding the meeting place given that Stockholm has several piers. Charlotte arrived promptly and we were off to explore the rune stones in the countryside. My husband had a particular interest in the topic as he has studied the native southwest US petroglyphs as a museum docent. Our guide was clearly highly educated and articulate in explaining the difference between the prevailing opinion of Vikings and who the people actually were. On our return to the city, Charlotte was kind enough to offer us a drop off in the museum area so we could finish our day seeing the Vasa as we had hoped might be possible. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend Sweden History Tours as an organized and reputable company and Charlotte as an excellent guide.

Our Guide, Jonathan, was excellent! He was extremely knowledgeable about the Vikings and their culture. The exchange of information and the depth of his knowledge shined as we asked question after question for the duration of the tour. This is a highly recommended guide and tour when in the Stockholm area.
