What To Expect
Meet your private guide during a 9am pickup at your accommodation or the local train station in Rouen, then take a seat in your air-conditioned minivan and head onward to the beaches of Normandy — where so much of the violent fighting of WWII took place. During your 8-hour tour, visit the port at Arromanches — constructed by British forces to help land the Allied troops in June 1944. Enjoy lunch in a local restaurant (own expense) and admire panoramic views over the famous beaches. Visit the Normandy American Cemetery and Memorial in Colleville-sur-Mer with your private guide and learn of the many Allied soldiers who laid down their lives in battle. Next, head to Longues-sur-Mer to see the batteries the Germans used to protect the coast from the Allies. Head onward to the Pointe du Hoc and listen as your private guide explains how the how the U.S soldiers climbed the cliffs to disarm the German defence. Time permitting, perhaps visit Sainte-Mère-Église — where the first Allied paratroopers of WWII landed — and learn of the fighting that took place here those years ago. When your tour comes to an end, return in comfort to your hotel or the train station in Rouen at approximately 6pm.

Igor was a consummate host (perfect fluency both with English and with the subject matter) who operated with high level of courtesy and was very personable. He shared his encyclopedic knowledge freely and without pretension. Clean, spacious, and well maintained vehicle; Igor also found ingenious, interactive ways to use our two-hour journeys to and from Rouen—plus he had seamless microphone for enhancing sound. An excellent and generous way to spend our day. We almost feel as if we were undercharged!

5.00We had a fantastic tour of D-Day beaches. Igor, the tour operator picked us up and returned us to our hotel in Rouen. We had excellent communication with the tour operator both prior to and during tour which was so helpful. He spoke very good English! Igor was very knowledgeable of the D-Day invasion, the beaches, and the countryside. I highly recommend this tour.

5.00We did not have the tour of the beaches and battlefields as we wanted to see other parts of Normandy. Igor for the two days structured a tour to our interests, adjusting it along the way as we provide feedback. I would certainly have him again.
Misleading advertisement

1.00We booked this tour and were picked up from our Viking ship by a driver in a small Mercedes C class sedan. We were 4 adults and the sedan only had 4 seats including the driver's. I immediately protested but was told by the driver that Mr. Rosen had booked him to pick us up in a sedan. He proceeded to drive us to Normandy and we saw the sights as outlined, but he was a chauffeur, not a tour guide (by his own admission and business card) so we had no information given about the sights. We were so cramped in the car that we could not take pictures or see much of the countryside. We tried to speak with Mr. Rosen, the owner, directly, but he hung up on me. Fortunately, we had pictures and proof of what we received versus what we had been promised and Viator gave us a refund. I cannot stress enough that Igor Rosen is not a man to be trusted. You will see from my many previous trip advisor reviews that I do not routinely complain but I felt that we had been totally "taken" by this man.

5.00Our Guide was terrific and made us very comfortable spending the time at the beach. He was extremely knowledgeable and felt like we had known him forever. Good driver, nice van --had water for us. Non smoker.
