What To Expect
Rano Raraku
This is the only volcanic cone tuff quarry existing on the island. This material allowed the construction of the moai on a larger scale. Rano Raraku houses the quarry where the moai were built and from where they were moved to the ahu (ceremonial platforms) in the island.
Ahu Tongariki
Located opposite to Rano Raraku this is the largest platform from all of the reconstructed on the island. The ahu Tongariki is the most imposing moai platform in the island. This altar has fifteen visible standing statues overlooking the island with their backs to the Pacific Ocean.

5.00I booked a full-day tour with Kava Tours, combined with the Tongariki sunrise. I was picked up at 6:00 AM by Toto, the driver and guide for that day. I had an amazing day! Toto shared a lot of knowledge about the history of the Moai, the Island, and the Birdman culture. It was an excellent introduction to Rapa Nui and its beauty. Thank you, Toto and Kava Tours! It was a long and intensive day, but it was certainly worth it.

5.00The place is amazing it is worth a lot to do the tour of the island with a guide to know well the origin and customs after it is easy to walk again and be a little longer in some places I recommend the place to rest there is no good internet sign or television a getaway from the world, the perfect weather, some rain that lasts a few minutes just enough to cool down, enjoy the fresh tuna every day is amazing, the very attentive locals
