Seongsan Ilchulbong

Seongsan Ilchulbong Peak [UNESCO World Heritage] (Trekking : 60 minutes) Seongsan Ilchulbong Peak rose from under the sea in a volcanic eruption over 100,000 years ago. Located on the eastern end of Jejudo Island, there is a huge crater at the top of Seongsan Ilchulbong Peak. The crater is about 600m in diameter and 90m high. With the 99 sharp rocks surrounding the crater, it looks like a gigantic crown. While the southeast and north sides are cliffs, the northwest side is a verdant grassy hill that is connected to the Seongsan Village. The ridge provides an ideal spot for walks and for horse riding as well.

Jeju established the Jeju Haenyeo Museum in 2003 to introduce to the world the unique activities and culture of Jeju's haenyeo. Haenyeo refers to female divers who dive into the ocean water to gather various shellfish and seaweed without any diving equipment. The museum exhibits various photos of haenyeo and their activities, to provide an accurate picture of their lives. The museum also has an observatory offering an excellent view of the Hado-ri area, which has a garden with various sculptures and a resting area. The first floor lobby has a souvenir shop where visitors can purchase a variety of souvenirs related to haenyeo.

Loved this tour! Never felt rushed, and we had plenty of time to take everything in. Hailey our tour guide was incredible! she went above and beyond and even gave us great food recommendations afterward (which I tried and absolutely loved). Thank you, Hailey! 10/10.

I joined the YEHA East Course tour with Haley and really enjoyed the day. The schedule was well-paced, and we got to see many highlights like Seongeup Folk Village, Hamdeok Beach, the Haenyeo show, and Seongsan Ilchulbong Peak. Haley was a fantastic guide, friendly, organized, and full of interesting stories about Jeju’s culture and history. The bus was comfortable, everything ran on time, and it was a stress-free way to explore the island. Highly recommend this tour if you want to see a lot in one day without worrying about transport or planning!

We had a lovely time with Hailey while visiting the East Jeju. In spite of being a large group, she made sure everybody is having a good time and took the time to explain to us what we are seeing throught the tour.

Haley was such a pleasure to have as a tour guide. She communicated the details and provide information through out the tour very clearly and easy to understand. The tour was paced nicely so we could see and enjoy everything listed on the description we booked from. She also took time to get to know us and provide help taking pictures. Haley’s energy was fun. We had a great tour and wish we were going to be in Jeju longer bc I would book another tour with her. Thank you Haley!!!

Got on a tour with Haley and enjoyed the day much. It was a great way to see the island & make great photos. Tour is well organaised, there is enough time planned. And Haley is a kind & helpful person so no need to worry in case of delicate situations.
