We will first head to a panoramic view point in the morning, where you can see Mt. Fuji right in front of you, and lakes below. Then we explore the Aokigahara Forest, to experience the rich nature of Mt. Fuji.

In the afternoon, we will explore the cultural and historical aspects of Mt. Fuji, by visiting worship sites, Sengen Jinjya shrines, pilgrimage lava cave, etc. You will be provided with the academic and detailed explanations.

I'm a local teacher, and If you are expecting more than an ordinary sightseeing experience, this tour is a perfect choice. Mt. Fuji is not just a mountain, but it has been a source of artistic inspiration and cultural and spiritual symbol for the Japanese for more than 1500 years. Japanese traditionally believed Mt. Fuji is itself a god, and built worship sites and shrines around it, made pilgrimage trips to the summit. If you are interested in the Japanese culture, history and spiritual traditions, this tour is highly recommended.

Momo was an excellent guide. In fact, his kindness and knowledge were shared with us before we ever arrived for the tour. We were traveling to the meetup location from a smaller city and weren’t sure how to navigate the bus system. Momo let us know exactly which public transit was bet to get us there. Once we arrived, the tour itself was great. He took us to multiple beautiful places around Mt. Fuji and shared the cultural significance of everything we visited. The day was full of enjoyable walks, excellent scenery, and interesting sites. Walking in the Sea of Trees and visiting the shrine there was especially cool. Momo is very knowledgeable and thoughtful in the way he explains things. He also has a good sense of humor and was endlessly patient with our many questions. We’re very grateful to him for taking the time to show us what goes unseen by many travelers. I would recommend him and his tour to anyone who’s interested in not just visiting these incredible areas, but learning about their significance, as well.

If you’re interested in seeing off the beaten path, historical and breathtaking scenery of Mt. Fuji, this is the tour for you. Our guide was absolutely wonderful and taught us so much. He is a local and showed us things around Fuji that weren’t swapped with tourist and we had no idea why they weren’t because it was beyond beautiful and fascinating! This was the most fun we’ve had in a tour. So thankful for the amazing experience!

Momo was a fantastic tour guide. I am traveling with my 75 year old mother who has difficulty walking long distances. He was understanding and modified the tour so that my mom was able to actively participate instead of having to wait in the car. Momo was kind enough to pick us up from our hotel in Fujikawaguchiko. He was incredibly knowledgeable about Japanese history and the history of the area. His English was fantastic and his recommendations for activities and things to do were helpful. He was also kind enough to take us to the local Fall Festival and allow us to experience a Japanese festival. He went above and beyond both of our expectations. If you’re interested in Japanese history but don’t want to spend the day navigating the local bus system (or physical mobility is an issue for your group), I can’t recommend this tour enough.
