Garni Temple
Garni temple, which towers over a triangular cape, is the unique survived example of heathen culture in Armenia. It is a blend of Greco-Roman and Armenian styles. King Trdat The First ordered building the temple in the first century AD and dedicated it to the God of Sun. After adopting Christianity in 301, the pagan temple lost its significance and the fortress of Garni became the summer residence of the kings. Nowadays the ruins of the royal palace and the bathroom with a stunning mosaic work can be found near the temple.
The Monastery of Geghard
Geghard monastery is the unsurpassable masterpiece of the 13th century Armenian architecture. Some of the churches of the complex are masterfully hewn in a huge rock. From the outset the complex was called Ayrivank (cave monastery), later it was renamed Geghard (lance) as the lance, used by the roman soldier to sting Jesus Christ's side, had been kept in this monastery for many centuries. Due to its construction, Geghardavank serves the best place for singing spiritual songs. The complex is rich in subtle sculptural embellishments and many striking khachkars (cross-stones). The site is included in UNESCO World Cultural Heritage List.

We went on a private tour with guide Samvel and driver Levon Karapetyan to visit Geghard Monastery, Garni Temple, and the Symphony of Stones. We thoroughly enjoyed the entire experience, starting with the smooth and safe drive provided by Levon, followed by an engaging and informative tour led by Samvel. Samvel is an excellent guide—highly knowledgeable, professional, and tactful. He shared many fascinating facts about the sites we visited, as well as Armenian history and its prominent historical figures. There was virtually no question that he could not answer with remarkable depth, insight, and consideration. Beyond the historical information, Samvel was also extremely helpful in showing us the best locations for photographs and helping us capture memorable pictures at the most scenic spots. I would highly recommend Samvel and Levon to anyone looking for a private tour in Armenia. Thank you both for a wonderful experience!

Jasmine (tour guide) and Avet (driver) both exceeded my expectations. Jasmine was so well informed, professional and educated about all the places we visited. Moreover, she went above and beyond to ensure we had a great experience. She answered all our questions with amazing depth of knowledge. One of the best tour guides I’ve had in a very long time.

We took a wonderful tour to the Temple of Garni, a symphony of rocks and so on on on May 18. It was very interesting and informative, comfortable, thanks to driver David and tour guide Haik. To be able to choose your seats on the bus, come in advance, by 9:30 it was almost all taken.

We enjoyed a great day visiting Garni, Gehard, Symphony of stones, Lake Sevan and Sevanavank. The driver (Aleksander) and the guide (Marina) did their outmost to make us feel good and adjust to our needs. Having all the details provided by Marina not only about the places we’ve seen but also about overall Armenian history and culture made the experience worth every moment. We highly recommend!
